Thanks for the review. I'm always on the hunt for 'classic' porn sites but the material seems to be pretty limited. I'll definitely browse around the site and likely take at least a trial membership. How do you find things like download speeds and the resolutions of the files? I realize that HD is out of the question, but are you satisfied with the quality if you view it in full screen?

I agree with you on the quality of TBP and PU. I haven't really looked at another review site since I found this in 2007. I trust the TBP reviews and the gang at PU is always helpful in filling in some details and given a good subjective assessment of a site.

Pat – thanks for the great review. I’m always amazed at how you find some of this stuff!
I’ve recently made it a point to check any reported errors at TBP before signing up to a site. I’ve reported errors that don’t then get fixed in the main review. I can understand why that is – the reviewer has a set of facts and reports on that but things may change. And it wouldn’t make any sense for TBP staff to just change a review based on a comment from a reader, even if the reader making the comment is well known as you are on the site. I once reported an error on a daily download limit that did get changed in the review, but recently I noted an error in Wave Hos where the TBP review says it is a full trial and it isn’t. There is extremely limited access to the site via the trial. The problem for TBP though is that may be difficult to confirm.
TBP is an amazing resource but they can’t be perfect all the time, so I make it a point to check TBP and PU before joining a site – and that now includes looking at any reported errors.

I felt the same way when I stumbled on this site a few years back. One thing that amazed me then and continues to amaze me is the level of civility that exists here. On so many other forums on just about any topic it seems that any thread quickly devolves to a shouting match. That never occurs here. My tastes in porn are a bit extreme for the members who are more into softcore stuff, but I never feel judged. Welcome to the site!
And if you're into public humiliation stuff i can't recommend Public Disgrace highly enough. It has the production values that Kink seems to always have. The only complaint is that it can get a bit repetitive if you watch a lot of it back-to-back. One tip with Kink, if you haven't already, is to sign up for email offers. The regularly offer discounts that way.

I’m a huge fan of Kink’s stuff but I’m not into gay material so I’ve often wondered if their gay stuff was up to the same standards of their straight stuff. You’ve cleared that up for me. This sounds like it is exactly like Public Disgrace, which is huge favorite of mine. There are two distinct themes on Public Disgrace – scenes that are in ‘public’ in that they are shot in front of a group of people in the SF Armory or in a bar or some other public setting, and then there are scenes that are really public in that they are shot in open, public areas in European cities with full public nudity. The sex usually occurs outside but in a more discrete area. I’m assuming that given our culture’s generally homophobic nature that Bound in Public doesn’t have any of those truly ‘public’ shoots.
While I wouldn’t consider myself a candidate for gay porn, I’m glad to see that there are some reviews being posted. Welcome to the site and I think you’ll find that everyone here is pretty welcoming.

I guess it depends on how ‘outrageous’ is defined. If the person setting the terms is into softcore solo girl material then I’m guilty as charged. But I also suspect that a lot of what I buy and download would be considered outrageous by the majority here too. I like a lot of BDSM stuff as long as it is clear that the woman is fully consenting. That’s one of the reasons I think that Kink.com is just about the best porn company on the net. I own a lot of stuff from Jim Powers and JM Productions, as well a lot of Max Hardcore stuff. I even had a membership to Facial Abuse which was a bit too extreme for me.
But… if ‘outrageous’ means looking for something that is illegal or even in a grey area, legally speaking, then I don’t seek that out. I may be sick and twisted to some, but even I have limits.

My only experience with a massage site is with Massage Creep. I had low expectations because I find these single set-up sites can get boring. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that even though the scenes all follow the same structure they still manage to be hot. I'm sure a lot of the credit goes to the person hiring the girls.
As for Jurassic Cock, this was the reason I joined the network. I don't have an old-guy-young-girl thing, but TBP made it seem interesting so I joined and was really happy with it. I tend to search out a lot of older porn (80s and 90s) and don't get a lot of exposure to new models so this site introduced me to a few that I'll continue to watch for.
I had the same thing with the reported scene lengths in Public Violations. Most of the scenes are really short anyway, and the many of the ones that have the wrong times listed seem to be over, so I think it is just a typo.
And finally, I will always question their decision to use so much of the fake-cock-fake-cum stuff. It makes no sense to me.

I've just wrapped up a membership and agree with everything you wrote. Several of the sites are excellent and worth the subscription alone. I really liked Jurassic Cock and Massage Creep is very well done. I found myself watching the scene setup that I'd normally skip.
And the fake cock/cumshot sites... I can't imagine that these are a big draw but they must be since there are several sites that use them almost exclusively. I can see watching one or two for the bizarreness of them, but they get old fast.
And Public Violations is an interesting site too. It's obviously staged, but still fun to watch.

For me the issue isn't what kind of editing, as long as it is well done and doesn't ruin the continuity or mood of a scene. One of the things that really bugs me about some scenes is having a guy and girl start to fool around a bit and then edit to her naked and giving him head. What happened to her clothes? Seeing a woman get undressed or be undressed is a favorite thing of mine.
Back in 2006 Smash Pictures did a video called "Moving Violations" where they didn't do any editing. The camera and sound was turned on and the talent did their thing. Nothing got cut. It was interesting to watch, and I would have like to see a small series developed from it, but it did underscore the need for some editing.
And as for the fake moans and groans overdubbed on the scene - those have to go.

Interesting viewpoint. I don't share it, but I can understand where you're coming from. Personally, the scene set-up is at least as important for me as the actual sex. In many scenes I find myself watching the set-up more than the sex. I'll watch the set-up (on a good scene with a good set-up) and then skip ahead to the pop shot. But like I said, I do understand your point and there are probably more guys who are on your side than on mine.
I do disagree with you on one thing though, and that's blaiming Videobox for your dislike of "BS fillers." Videobox posts porn DVDs and they post what the studios shoot so if you don't like the filler stuff then the studios are at fault. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, and you won't get flamed for it here, though you may get respectfully questioned about it, but I think the almost-universal opinion on this site is that Videobox is a great site.

Thanks for the review. i found it interesting and informative. I'm a big fan of Private stuff and often wondered about joining. But based on your experience I won't bother.
Two comments:
1) Private seems to have at least two levels of material. Let's say A list and B list. I find that almost none of the A list stuff makes it to Videobox, though some of it does.
2) This seems to be another example of a studio site that begrudginly puts material on the internet. I really don't understand this. The internet isn't the future anymore, it's the present. People want material on the internet now. Having crappy websites with slow downloads won't help any company.

I answered “yes, definitely, but for me, the better question would be “how often do you come across porn that causes a new fetish?”
I can still remember (though the details are lost in the mists of time) when I discovered small breasts. Every guy, it seemed, was into big breasts, then one day seeing a petite lass with small breasts in a porn flick changed that whole outlook for me.
More recently, starting a few years ago, one of my stranger fetishes popped up. That would be seeing women have some liquid poured on them. Naturally then, the Elegant Angel series Big Wet Asses is a favorite too – with baby oil being used in liberal quantities.

This series led me to develop some new anal-themed fetishes too, of which I have no shortage (weird insertions, gaping, milk enemas, fisting, etc.). I’d have to say that Jay Sin is probably my favorite director working today. I just wish he had more material.

If you've never been a member before at all I think that you'll find that it is worth the membership fee just for what is there though.
You certainly point out a serious flaw in the site though: the fact that there is very limited information available to a prospective member. This really bugs me about some sites, especially when you compare them to sites that give full acess to see what is there and the only difference with a membership is that you can actually download. Sites like Public Flash always make me nervous - of they won't give me a good idea of what they have, then what are they hiding?
But with Public Flash you can take a membership with some level of confidence based on the reviews here and TBP.
