There have been porn babes that have been pretty out-front about their affection for pot - Jenna Haze's daily mentions of "420 time" and "meeting with Miss Mary", for instance. Then there are the web cam babes that think nothing of taking hits from a bong during their shows. I've been in clubs in Cali where the DJ's were smoking pot at the DJ station and patrons were going into the beer-supply area to smoke - in a non-smoking club - and the only concern of the staff was that they don't get in the way of their beer runs. There's that old cliche about eyes being the mirror to the soul. Sometimes you can have intense likes and dislikes without really hitting on the source of it entirely and I think I just had an ephipheny as to mine. Many here have seen my rants about photo-shopping. I especially hate blurred faces - it just completely ruins pics for me. Looking at a couple of pics that I found incredibly wonderful helped me nail it down. As justme commented, ATK Galleria has enhanced the size of their pics really nicely - and on a 23-inch screen to have hot models like Francizka, a huge fave of both ATK and ALS Scans, basically life-size and being able to gaze deep into her gorgeous eyes - what a fucking rush!! Yesterday, Twistys had one of their best photo-sets ever for my tastes - Danni Kalifornia - a model I'd never seen before - and they didn't fuck it up with excess photo treatment - and again, with the pics at the largest res available, it was a complete thrill to be able to take in her gorgeous-ness. So my plea to the over-exuberant photo-shoppers of the world continues - give it a fucking break! Leave us with skin tone to enjoy. Leave us with un-blurred faces to enjoy. Leave us with eyes to gaze into - or admit that you really want to be a painter and go fucking be one and quit fucking up photos that could be great. And for people who want to dependably gaze into gorgeous model's faces without all the unnecessary photo treatment, get yourself a nice big monitor and check out ATK's huge new pics - fucking thrilling! | |

Go to Rame.net and click on "dead pornstars" and you can find a whole lot that died of HIV before AIM was operating. When AIDS first burst out in LA, it was pretty amazing how devastating it was. A friend of mine - a lesbian - lived in this neighborhood in the Silverlake district of LA that was almost all gay - guys heavily into the whole bathhouse scene. I suppose this could have been a poll question, but for whatever reason, I decided to plop it in the forum. I was wondering how many people go deep into the archives with sites that they join versus looking at the newest stuff. I've got to say that there are many sites that I have been a member of where I have not plumbed much of the archives at all. I look at the updates and recent posts of new material and don't get very far into the depth of the site during my membership. There are other sites - and this seems to be with solo-girl sites more than with other sites - where I'll be very interested in the archives. I think it has something to do with the fact that with solo-girl sites, it's easier to get a handle on the best period for the model - there is an ebb and flow to everything - and any solo-girl model that I'm interested in has periods when she looked absolutely stunning and periods when she didn't look quite as stunning or wasn't using the best photographer or got a shitty haircut when she hooked up for a site - which might affect dozens of sets. It's harder to do that with a site like 1-by-day for me. | |

I've got to say that I'm inconsistent in regard to boob jobs. If I've never been acquainted with a girl before her boob job, I just react to her as she is now - hot or not. Time for me to get on my soap-box. This is probably the most important first ammendment rights case in many years. The prosecution is saying that any anti-porn government employee can order material that they want to build a case on, then use the material that they ordered and charge the producer and distributor of the material with obscenity - and, even though the law states that the material "as a whole" must be considered to have no redeeming social value, they can show clips of the material and ONLY show clips of the material and on that basis have the producer and distributor of the material sent to jail for decades and be fined for millions of dollars. Stagliano is facing a maximum of 32 years in jail and $7 million in fines if convicted on all counts. I've never been much of a fan of Howard Stern - I consider him to be a vicious bully based on the amount of his show that I've been able to stand listening to, but his points on this issue are right-on: http://www.thespoof.com/news/spoof.cfm?headline=s2i78191 If consenting adults can't buy material that is clearly created for and marketed to consenting adults, then there is no right to free speech. I'm a big fan of Evil Angel's material - it's the best porn company operating, as far as I'm concerned. Rocco's recent stuff is unbelievably great, with a freshness that is pretty striking considering how many years he's been in the biz. Jay Sin's stuff is brilliant. Their new director, Mike Adriano is awesome. It would be a big loss to porn fans if this company were taken down, but more than that, it would mean that nobody making porn is safe in the U.S. One could fool oneself that really vanilla porn is still going to be safe - but if they win this one, I don't think that will be the case at all. The porn industry seems to get the importance - both XBIZ and AVN have reporters that will be on the scene through-out the trial. The current expectations are that jury selection will take 2 days and opening statements will begin on Thursday. | |

I've had some back-and-forth with other PU's about expectations of web sites, so I thought this might be an interesting thread. I would have suggested a poll, but there's too many variations. I've got pretty high expectations of web sites being able to work in fundamental ways - giving consistent access, making their pics and vids available in a consistent way. If a site isn't able to do so consistently, they ought to have damned good C/S so that they can respond to customer problems, since they're charging for time - and few sites add time on to subscriptions to make up for their problems in delivering consistent access. Besides the fact that we're paying for time, there's the fact that this is the digital age - where I can download digital books to my kindle instantly and I can order internet PPV events and gofightlive and I can order video games over Steam - and they work - consistently. This evening I was watching an event at gofightlive and the feed cut out - they got another feed up within minutes and responded to my e-mail about the problem within minutes. So why can't porn sites have the same expectations? If a site has a problem, they ought to post about it so that their members know that they are aware of the problem and when the problem will be fixed - or they could e-mail to their e-mail list of members. But sites should work consistently - and they should have the kind of C/S that can respond to their members' issues in a timely way. | |

Ya know, it ought to be pretty basically understood that a) If you're going to have a site, a member ought to be able to click and get access and do things like - you know - download videos and things and b) If you're going to pay some company to send promo invites to join your site, a person receiving the promo invite ought to be able to click on the link and actually have the page load where they could join if they see fit. But noooooooooo Yesterday, it took me crazy amounts of time to be able to get a vid download started at actionjav, a site with great updates but serious navigation issues. This afternoon, I come home to see an invite to join Flashybabes for $5 for a month - I click on the link and the thing takes forever to load, then it gives me the old "pick a username & password", then click to see the membership options. So I fill out the username and password, click and after another ridiculous amount of time, I just get an error. What's the fucking point? If you can't have members navigate your site, shut it down. Go open a Japanese equivalent of a taco stand or something else that doesn't require much technology. If you can't have your site respond to promo mailings, why pay for them? Just save your money. Jeeeessh!! | |

I thought it would be interesting as an alternative to reviews of individual sites, to do a survey of a broad spectrum of sites - here's mine: Top Tier: Twisty's - consistency of updates is key and Twisty's updates every day - 3 photosets a day, 2 vids a day - and they have a lot of very good material on their site. The vids are more exciting for me than their photo-sets because they do too much treatment to the photos for my tastes but that's just my tastes Met Art - several updates a day, different photographers, different models, varying styles - there's almost always something very hot there for my tastes every day - and then on top of that they have hot live web shows with great looking models included in the price - and the Join price for a year is as good as it gets ALS Scan - updates galore, very high quality posts, awesome bonus shoots such as their Caribbean trips, great pics, great vids, great models - it's a beautiful site - and I don't give a damn about the design of the site - because the navigation works consistently - Nubiles.net - again, lots of updates, a constant flow of new babes, increasing quality of pics and vids - it's a site I rejoin every few months for their long-term deal and I enjoy it more each time I'm a member 2nd Tier Naughty America - At the top of the heap of the reality vid sites for me because they give a damn about their members. They constantly seek input from their members about what their members want to see and who they want to see and they try to satisfy them - as a fan of live shows, I've been thrilled with many of them - and they archive the suckers so you get to see the great ones again. They have some navigation issues - sometimes it takes some work to download new vids, but other than that there's a lot to praise here Videobox - a site like videobox is at the disadvantage that they're not producing their own material. The addition of the "Premium Channels" was a good shot in the arm and like Naughty America, you get the sense that this site is constantly soliciting feedback from their members and trying to satisfy them - and that's a great thing for any business to be doing. Lots of updates, good prices, room to improve in terms of searches, etc 3rd Tier 21st Sextury Network - great join price, lots of updates, lots to see, but the navigation can be hinky and the excitement factor can be lacking. They've been doing this a long time and there's a down-side to professionalism - are the people doing this stuff still excited by their work? It's hard to say DDF Network - they've made their network an increasing value and I give them kudos for that. Like 21st Sextury, there's the excitement question - plus there's the "truth in advertising" issue - a lot of recycled material not being labeled as such - a network in need of some kind of creative kick in the pants - perhaps new blood behind the camera Teen Dreams - just rejoined for the first time in quite a while - like Nubiles.net, there's a lot of updates - like Met Art, there's a lot of varied styles to the updates - It's a good solid site, could use some more excitement to it - probably the factor that keeps me from staying a member for very long or rejoining very quickly. ActionJav - 5 full-length Japanese adult vids added per day, multiple formats to download, lots of variety in terms of performers and styles of vids, but they lack the uncensored vids and they seem to have ceased the reviews, which was a very cool feature - they should bring that back. Jsexnetwork - inconsistent in updates, inconsistent in quality of updates, but they hit enough home runs in terms of posting some of the best and craziest vids, including most new Maria Ozawa vids, including the uncensored ones, that this is a great place to check out the range of authentic Japanese porn - including photo sets - their reviews are fun and irreverent and quite helpful - they could rise another level by more consistent updating. I'll stop now, but those are sites that I would put into my top 3 tiers of porn sites haven been a member of a few over the past few years My view of the state of porn - it's good! I just heard about this on All Tech Considered - a new site that just started a few months ago where you randomly get hooked up with different people for cam chats - maybe it's gonna be some guy shaking his cock in your face - maybe it'll be some cool people in Tunisia that just want to chat with people in another corner of the world. I always enjoy looking at the extras on DVD's of Tarantino's films, and I used part of my winnings from the PU raffle to get the DVD of Inglourious Basterds. There are numerous things in there that reinforce why I like Tarantino so much. He hired Rod Taylor to play Winston Churchill. Taylor was amazed that the great Tarantino wanted him and came out of a casting meeting to talk to him when he returned the call he got. More than that, Tarantino did a mini-Rod Taylor film festival for his young film crew before the guy got there, so instead of just being some old actor doing a bit part, he was being greeted by all these 20-something German & French kids, who he had no expectation of knowing his work at all and who had been primed as to just who was going to be working with them and why they should be honored. Then when his work was wrapped, Tarantino led the crew in giving Taylor a standing ovation in appreciation of his work. Then Tarantino went and visited him in his dressing room to talk movies - bearing a chilled bucket of premium Australian beer that had to be specially flown in because it's not sold anywhere but Australia. Tarantino and Brad Pitt talked about the first screening they did in Germany. Pitt was talking about having some trepidation about what the reception would be. Tarantino was a little more aware of the reality for young Germans - they had been inundated with guilt about the Holocaust since they were babies, so it wasn't anything new to them for Germans to be targeted in WW II films, but the dark humor of the film made it a release for the German audience and people were howling laughing at the movie like no other audience had because they realized that it was a WW II movie that they could actually enjoy - plus it had a number of great young German actors that were getting their first exposure in a film with world-wide distribution and big-time American actors, so they could have a lot of pride about their guys holding their own in that company. He gave similar treatment as Taylor to the director of the original Inglourious Bastards, who had one line in the movie - but again, when they wrapped his part, Tarantino led the crew in giving him a standing ovation. That kind of thing is really rare - at best other directors would probably personally express their appreciation to these kind of people on set - but involving the whole crew - nah, no fucking way! His respect for language in the film is also rare - having French people playing French people, having Germans playing Germans, having Americans playing Americans - and one of the key reasons why is language - because he understands - and really uses in the film - the fact that language is really particular and that even if everybody is the same color, the way people pronounce words, the words that people use, tell a lot about where they are or are not from. He talks about how films where everybody talks English and language isn't even used authentically blow all of the suspense of how tricky it really is to get by speaking a different language than your own. The guy likes the movies he likes - super-violent ones - and makes the movies he wants to - super-violent ones with long dialogue-heavy scenes in between. But he's an extraordinarily generous guy as an artist and in dealing with other artists and his audiences, when it comes right down to it. I hope he continues for quite a while, whether or not he curbs or gets over his taste for super-violent films. | |

I'm always amused when I see a film that was a real sensation in theaters when it comes on cable and it strikes me as hilariously bad. That's my reaction to Twilight - my favorite line is when the mother visits the daughter in the hospital and giddily says - "You visited Edward and his father at their hotel, you tripped and fell down two flights of stairs and crashed through a window - and you don't remember any of it!" - like it was some splendid joke. I found it interesting to see the reactions to Steve Jobs' announcement of the Apple Tablet yesterday. On the one hand, it's cool to see the tablet computers that used to be seen only in Star Trek coming to fruition so quickly, but for my tastes and needs, I can't see buying one. I suppose if I were the type that has or wants an ipod and has or wants an iphone or other "smart" phone and has or wants a portable DVD player and has or wants a portable game player, well then it would be a bargain to have a device that can do all that AND be an ebook reader. But I've got the simplest cell phone ever made and don't hardly know how to do anything but save phone #'s and make calls, I've got no ipod or portable DVD player or portable game player. I did buy the less expensive version of the Kindle - got a good deal through my job - and I've got to say that I really like it - it's a really immersive experience to read without all that weight being too heavy on one side then too heavy on the other, then the pages flip back so you lose your place, etc. With the Kindle, there's just you and the words - and with a good book, that's exciting. Luckily for Apple, the world is filled with people a hell of a lot more gadget-hungry than I am. | |

Being a fan of import model babes, I had been periodically checking out PureHotModels and decided to join a couple of weeks ago - since the join price was significantly less per month if I joined for a longer period of time, I joined for 3 months. For the first week I was a member, they hadn't added any new photo sets or vids, just zips of event pics. Then they announced that they were phasing out the site and that if you were a member for longer than 90 days, then they would give you a 30-day membership to the new site when they open it - whenever that would be, whatever it would be. Huh? What about me? was my question. So I e-mailed the only e-mail address I could find on the site - saying "you had me join in false pretenses - you've got a stated update schedule, which you are clearly not going to follow. I just joined for 90 days - what are you going to do to make it up to me?" No response to my first e-mail. No response to a follow-up - no response to a 3rd e-mail. So I e-mailed CC Bill - said, "hey, this site has a stated update schedule as follow - pasted it - they're not following it and they have now announced that they're folding the site so they have no intention of following their stated update schedule and they aren't responding to my communications - please refund me." CC Bill said, "give you 72 hours. We'll check into it." I gave them 72 hours, got no e-mail. So I e-mailed them, got a response a couple of hours later - "You're right and you're refunded." Cool beans - go CC Bill! | |

Swift wants to make a documentary about her illness. "I'm talking to Nica at Sweetheart Films and they're possibly interested. I definitely want to document everything that I'm going through. I know for a fact that this can help someone else, because I'm not the only person this is going to happen to. "My father died of cancer and anything that has to do with cancer, I need to be involved." Swift also said she wants to start a nonprofit organization to help raise money for her surgery and help people in similar circumstances. "I want to start a scholarship fund and I want to start a foundation for other people that things happen to," Swift said. "Any kind of tragedy. It doesn't have to be cancer. There are things that happen to people and they have nothing to fall back upon in our business. I want to put that in my name. It's important to me that I do that." A few days ago my IE browser stopped saving log-in info - kind of a pain - now I have to keep a list of logins and passwords so I can copy and paste everytime I have to enter that info. Why would that have happened and what do I need to do to tell IE to resume saving that info - even when I click on the "save this info", it doesn't at this point. The only downloaded program I can think of that I've done recently was an update to Yahoo IM - and Yahoo is famous for thinking of ways to fucking you up. Hopefully the tech-minded here can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance. | |

I was going to submit this as a poll, but polls have limited options, and I had a follow-up question, which is "If you don't review every site that you have joined, what makes you review a site"? Personally, I have done reviews of only a portion of the sites that I have joined, because I have to have a certain energy level about a site to review it. Otherwise, I get bored in the middle of writing the review and just can the whole thing. I've reviewed the sites that have thrilled me. I'll be doing one on Johni Darko's site - really a review of the EA network - since that's a site/network that's doing a number of things to get better - definitely a factor in what makes me want to do a review - as well as a site/network that makes me excited to check it out every day to see what's new - the other most important factor in what makes me want to do a review. Below a certain excitement/energy level about a site, I'll just put a comment on someone else's review - add my 2 cents that way. | |

I just saw the best web cam event I've ever seen - a 2 1/2 hour shoot by John Stagliano at Buttman.com - fucking awesome. I could hardly be any more sick of the tendency to too much filtering/photoshopping/painting/altering, etc of photos. It makes me wonder why they get "name" models, except to advertise that they have pics of someone that they're identifying by that name, when they've messed with the pics so much that you can't find one that doesn't make her look like 3d art and they could have saved money by just having an open casting call and done the same thing to pics of whatever reasonably attractive woman showed up. Dunno why, but I started thinking about porn ethics today and thought this would be an interesting topic for this forum, since it could be approached from so many directions. Certainly there's been discussion about how "rough" is acceptable - many her express dislike for the Max Hardcore "treat 'em like vile whores" school of interaction between the male & female performers. Then there's the question of consensual vs non-consensual interaction - there's a number of sites out there that purport to be sneaky pics at beaches, etc, whether they are or not. But I was most interested in the ethical decisions that we porn users have available to us. With the internet what it is, there are a lot of forums that post links to get material from just about any kind of site that you want. Especially in the land of bit-torrents, there are "full site rips" available without too much searching, but even if you're too low-tech or lazy, like me, to get into the bit-torrent world, there are site rips available - and other forums that purport to have usernames & passwords available for many sites for free. There are a lot of people posting in those forums that take the position that you'd have to be a moron to pay for porn. So why do it? Why pay for porn? Why join sites in ways that involve credit card transactions instead of just joining forums that brag about having all of that material for free? Personally, I don't claim to be "pure" in my decisions in this area any more than I am in most areas of my life. I'll drive over the speed limit if I feel like it and feel no qualms. I obey traffic laws more strictly if I feel that I'm going to pay a price for not doing so - but on an ordinary basis I drive carefully because I don't want any injuries to befall me and I don't want to injure anybody else - not just because of the expense, but because I'd feel like shit if I did injure somebody else by my negligence. In terms of these forums that are all over the place, I check them out and I'm not above downloading stuff that I want to see, but I also join the sites that I find consistently exciting - because if people are doing a site that's going to be consistently exciting to me, as far as I'm concerned, they deserve to be paid for it. There's a matter of self-interest in wanting them to survive and prosper so that they keep going and keep on presenting the exciting material - and understanding that they need money to do so - and there's an ethical factor that, to me, if someone's doing consistently exciting work, I don't want to rip them off. I want to pay them for what they're doing. I don't feel bad about using these forums to check out material and see what the quality is like, but I don't want to feel that I'm ripping off the sites that are great, from my perspective - and I'd feel like more of a moron for taking their stuff for free than I do by paying them. On the other hand, I'll also do what I can to find the best prices available, including prices lower than the currently advertised prices. Google is a great tool to just put sites' names in and see what comes up and see what prices are being advertised with what comes up - sometimes you can find prices $5 or more off the currently advertised price or the best price available through TBP or other such sites - just because old links sometimes still work fine - and I've got no ethical problem paying the lowest price that I can find to join. Anyway, that's my long-winded rant to start off this topic. I'll be interested to see if others have any thoughts on this, including from some of the webmasters that post around here every once in a while. | |

Denner & I were having some back-and-forth over the fact that Pix & Video and Club Sandy were now adding each other to their Loyalty Bonus program. Is this a good thing or a rip-off? To me, it's a good thing, because I have enjoyed the results of 21st Sextury's Loyalty Bonus program. Denner's complaint was the false/misleading advertising in the 30+ Sites banner at the bottom of the Pix & Video home-page. I think this complaint of Denner's is very much to-the-point and that 21st Sextury could do themselves quite a bit of good in being clear as to which sites you will get immediate access to when you join and which sites are loyalty bonus sites and at what rate they will be added and in what order. They do make this more clear at some of their related sites, such as MandyIsKinky.com. But I couldn't figure out for sure at Pix & Video. They do have a new feature where you can search by updates at all of the sites in the network - and looking that way I was able to count 18 sites that are categorized as Instant Access sites. But I would have to contact their Customer Service Dept once again to be sure that I knew what the real deal is at the moment - and even though their Customer Service Dept was quite responsive - 12 minutes was the response time to the question that I asked - the site ought to be clear. I did have one Loyalty Program that I felt was a rip-off years ago at Masuimi Max's site, IAmTrouble.com. At a certain point, she e-mailed her members that if you were a member for 100 days, you could get a special continuing membership deal. I was a new member at that point and thought, "Cool, I'll definitely stick around for that!" Well, when I reached the point that I was eligible for that Loyalty Discount, there was nothing on the site that mentioned it and I e-mailed Masuimi and got a really pissy response about "Oh, we don't have that anymore. You guys think that we can offer those deals forever" - blah-blah-blah. Given the attitude and the rip-off of waving a deal that was taken away before I had earned it, I was done with her site permanently. And I think that's what people worry about with these long-term Loyalty Programs - sure it's there today, but if I have to be a member for 9 months to get it, is it still even going to be there in 9 months? Other thoughts? | |
