Xi-Soft Net Transport download manager - beware
A warning for anyone choosing a donwload manager.
Back in 2004 ago I purchased Net Transport download manager which is very good and works very well - it's clever enough to even download streams into a file and has all sorts of options for scheduling, downloaded file renaming etc. I was very impressed with it.
My licence was a lifetime licence - as the website says "One Time fee, no extra upgrade fee in the future." - but recent updates to the application no longer work with the licence key file I was originally provided with.
I've contacted the vendor, provided all my details and asked for an updated licence key/file, but my repeated emails have all been ignored over a number of months. I've definitely got the correct email address from the product website which is here.
So if you're choosing a download manager, it might be wise to give Net Transport a miss, or be prepared to pay regularly for the updates when the licencing system changes. |
