RB is really stubborn; not like me. I am current and up to date. Just loaded up DOS 3.11 and it's so much better than DOS 3.01. Just worried about Y2K and what that could do to my computer.  | |

Way to think ahead, Monahan!  Of course if you're really paranoid you could always get a 'backup' typewriter--manual of course, don't want to have to rely on electricity for a backup! Or better yet, since the typewriter's ribbon could run out sooner than you might think, invest in a nice abacus plus a slate and a large package of chalk. Take that Steve Jobs and Bill Gates! I am absolutely stubborn! When something does everything I want it to, I see no need to modify it. Or, as most people put it, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. My PC is a Audio/Video editting machine and entertainment center, with a more than healthy dose of downloading thrown in. It's only been recently that I'm losing some minor functionality with Firefox 2. Like I said, I'm staying with it because the more recent versions don't resize pictures to fit the screen from top to bottom. When I tried FF3 and didn't see any appreciable speed improvement over 2, I went back. When I want speed browsing, I use Opera 10, but it won't resize top to bottom either. When it gets too unusable, I'll have to give in and update the browser. I'll say it again - I am stubborn. I'm due to put a new PC together and can't find a new motherboard with Windows 2000 drivers and I ain't too happy about it. I still don't like XP and Windows 7 is definitely out of the question. I never thought about an abacus - I might have to give that a good look. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity. | ||
