Honestly, if I were just trying out this stuff I would recommend a Thai ladyboy site such as Shemale.asia (Ladyboy 69) or Ladyboy Ladyboy. Like Messmer said, the asian shemales tend to look more feminine and they are my favorite. This site, Franks, has a nice mix of models so it's a good place to get your toes wet. But, if you are looking for less asian or less of a mix in ethnicity, I would think Shemale Club or Brazilian Transsexuals would be better. Just like sites without shemales, it's all about what u like...solo or hardcore, mix, type of models, yadda yadda...you know the drill :)

Yes you did! I have to admit my favorite models come from Thailand and Japan when it comes to TS models. The aggressor thing u speak of is called a 'top' in the gay or TS world. It basically means they only give sex and do not receive. I find that most Thai models tend to be 'bottoms' (receive sex) but American and South American seem to have more tops. I mean this when it comes to TS and a male having sex. I'm not really a huge fan of any hardcore TS porn involving a Transsexual and a male. No way if the TS is giving it to the male and even if the TS is receiving from the male. I've just never really liked it. I'm really just in to the solo stuff..I guess you could say I'm the same way as it feels different for me...I don't want to say 'wrong' cause that's the wrong word (no pun intended). I just can't think of a term to describe the feeling. I've always considered TS material as a fetish for me, I really cannot see myself in real life going through with a sexual encounter with one and I still find myself attracted to females and their figures. I guess you could say my favorite TS models are 'ultra-feminine' looking ones, so I guess that plays a part of my heterosexuality. I still cannot explain it though when it goes 'downstairs though'...It's too difficult to explain!

Anyways, if you are still interested in delving in to some TS material, I can try to sway u in a direction..I know it may have just been a brief moment interest but I am definitely surprised you enjoyed any material in this realm :O It's cool though, like you say, us humans can really surprise anyone and themselves when it comes to things they are attracted to sexually... :)

Surprised you, didn't I, GCode? My first exposure to TS came when I subscribed to 21Sextury and found the Thai models so charming (in a now dead site) that I forgot that they were not yet real women. I have read up on the subject in the meantime and see them not as men trying to be women but as women born in a man's body. That's why I had no problem subscribing to Frank's site for a month. However I still have some inner conflicts when it comes to Transsexual Porn material if the TS plays the aggressor to another male .. then it becomes gay material to me. And that's something I am not interested in.

Don't be concerned that your answer was long. I appreciated all the information since this is a niche i don't know much about. I like most porn, so I enjoy discussing it all too. Just one warning - as you can probably tell from my questions, I don't have a lot of knowledge of this particular niche so I might come across as a bit uninformed. That certainly does answer my questions. Thanks for being so thorough. I'd like to think that I wasn't being willfully blind to the TS sub-culture in Thailand and Brazil, but I honestly wasn't aware that those cultures were so accepting of LGBT people. I guess it was just too easy to assume that all cultures are as homophobic as what I'm used to. I'm happy to learn how wrong I was.

I can answer your question, rearadmiral. In Thailand, the culture surrounding 'The Third Sex' AKA Transsexuals is much more accepting. There are large sections in Bangkok and Pattaya that include strips in red light districts that are Transsexual themed bars. So, many work at these bars and usually escort from there as well as a means to get money for their transition. With that said, the stigma is not as existent in their society so many are accepted as who they are. Therefore, Thailand is kind of a 'safe haven' for Transsexuals because not only can they make money but be accepted a lot easier too. Of course, not all work in these bars and if they don't, they can find more legitimate jobs and 'blend in' easier because of acceptance. On a side not, I've heard that some of the most prestigious plastic surgeons reside and work out of Thailand that do boob and SRS surgery and it can clearly be seen in the models from there.

When it comes to South America, it is very similar to Thailand. Especially in Brazil and I think Argentina is more tolerant as well. I do know Brazil is very accepting of Transsexuals and Gay culture. Therefore, this makes the people who want to transition easier to do because the worries of harassment and/or physical harm will be lessened. Think of it this way, it's much easier for a man or women to be openly gay in San Fransisco right? Think of it as the same for these areas, hence the more Transsexual in those areas.

However, to elaborate, there is plenty of Transsexuals from the USA, Canada, Japan, Philippines, and Europe (and I'm sure other parts of the world too). But, they are probably significantly less than in the areas mentioned before. I'm speculating, but I'm guessing with more stigma attached to being a Transsexual in those areas and acceptance, many would rather not model for a site in fear or other reasons because of being known or 'caught'. While I'm guessing about this, I do know cultures of the USA, Canada, and most of Europe are less accepting of Transsexuals. However, there are sites that are geared to TS models from the USA/Canada in Shemale Yum and Shemale Strokers. There are models from other parts but the majority of the models on those sites are North American.

messmer! Since when did you stray in to the TS niche?? lol :) I never knew you had any interest in these models. I'm interested in what you think of the niche? I always knew we both had a thing for older aged models but I never really knew you liked the TS stuff. I'd be delighted to talk about some things if you like.

As far as the sound goes, yeah the videos do get degraded around 2007 and I find a lot of technical things wrong with these videos. I did not have much issues with sound from the recent videos but I may have missed some because I rarely get a chance to play sound because of others in the household. This is a great thing to mention for others though in case they are interested because if you are in to sound, then having problems with it is unacceptable!

That's an excellent point messmer. Having feminine stature obviously plays into the whole thing. I remember one of the first TS scenes I saw was with a Brazilian girl named Thays Schiavinato in a movie titled She's Got Balls." I can't claim that I was duped into seeing this because I downloaded it from Videobox and it was classified as a TS movie, and the title should have been a bit of a hint. But from the screencaps the model looked hot so I downloaded it. And damn is she hot! Sure, she's got a bit of a medically induced downstairs mix-up going on, but if I said 'nope... never in a million years' I'd be lying.

I can, however, claim to actually have been duped into renting a TS DVD once. I was (and still am) a fan of a lot of Joey Silvera's work. I saw a new DVD series titled "Joey Silvera's Rogue Adventures" and rented it on the strength that many titles from his "Fashion Sluts" line and "Buttrow" series are among my all-time favourites. I was a bit disappointed. And a bit frightened. None of these chicks looked like the lovely Thays.

So the physical size thing is probably the number one reason why things are as they are. Not many guys would be turned on by a TS who was 6'4", 240lbs with big hands.

I know that your question was not addressed to me, rearadmiral, but it is my belief that many of the North American / European trannies are too big boned to sustain the illusion that they are girls. That is why Thai models especially are preferred. They can be so convincing that they've made me doubt my sexual orientation at times.

One question for you - not necessarily about this specific site but more about the niche itself. I'm not really into TS stuff so this might only be my perception rather than reality. Most of the TS stuff I've seen, and it isn't much I admit, has South / Central American models. I'm aware that this is also a big thing in Thailand and you note that there are a lot of Thai models on this site too. My question is this: are there North American and European TS models too? I don't think I've ever seen any. Do you think there is a reason that most of the models are South / Central American and Thai?

Just wondering... and this may be a question better posted on the forum but I thought if you have an interest in this niche you may have some thoughts on it.

My biggest beef was the positioning of the models against bright backgrounds like windows, for instance. I also found that a lot of the videos had sound problems. Excellent review, btw.

I totally agree with DVD sites...I really don't join these kind of sites because I've always found them to be entirely interested in quantity over quality. It is almost a guarantee once a update is made on those sites that they are forgotten about and kept in the archives...it is a shame though, any type of site should be looking for any way to attract more customers (and especially repeat customers).

Oh and to clarify for others since you mentioned it, so far it appears that one video gets re-mastered every time the site updates as a separate update with the actual updates.

It appears as of a few weeks ago, older sets are now being re-encoded. I have yet to d/l one yet but if I review the site, I'll let a few know how they look. If anyone is interested, I can reply with the info as well.

i could have been harsh on the quality of the videos but im standing by my comment about the videos the large wmv clips can not be viewed at fullscreen like on shemaleclub.com or lb-69.com that was my point thats what i meant about the quality but in saying that i just downloaded a clip of a brazilian girl called pamela and the quality was great and it was fullscreen if that continues i will adjust the review accordingly and thank you for your reply seanchai.i do agree frank is excellent at taking pictures proberly the best ive seen .he just needs some work with the video side of things thats all.

This site is currently going through a full redesign and will be ready in less than a month, if you email me with your username, I'll be sure to give you a complimentary look at the new site. This will include 100% of the sets as zip files, better navigation, feedback and favourites options, search functions and a much better look and design.

As you noted, some of the older videos are in different formats. This is common for sites which have been around a long time and are constantly striving to improve and therefore take the best format available at that time. To retro-convert those videos would be extremely time consuming and expensive, if we can get the pricing down to do this, we may but we're concentrating more on the new content.

I'm concerned with your comments on the video quality, as it's getting shot in HD on really good cameras and I haven't seen many shemale sites with the quality that matches, if you could contact our customer service with your problem we'll try and resolve that (although my first recommendation would be to try the free VLC video player).

The gonzo style on Franks has always been something which people have liked about this site (gonzo being the fact the models often suck or get fucked by the cameraman) but in the last year or so there has been less of this - and I agree with the fisheye lens issue, which was fine for a couple of shoots but not everyone.

I have to say your offbase with the photography, this is easily the best content I've seen of TS's - not just the models but the level of skill and style, of the photography, is far more professional than anything else.
