Even though it is a business, it is still being operated by people who have the full range of emotions as everyone else in the world. It takes two people to enter a business transaction, it goes both ways. It's just not something one would understand unless you give it a shot yourself running a business (any business in any industry, not just porn). Hmm... considering that 720p HD video is perhaps 3gb/hour, this site's limit allows downloading 12 hours of video a day, so approx 1TB over a month. If there's that much content that one person actually wants... definitely VFM that can't be argued with.

But mashy, you are right - no matter how profitable certain customers may or may not be, if their activity is within the allowed limits, then it's unprofessional to complain - a customer is a customer, and hopefully valued as such!

The issue I have is not the download limit, at least queued links don�t go dead with this site which is a huge plus point. The issue is the rant concerning how they were losing money with customers like me. After all it is a free market; they set the price and the rules for their site, so ranting at customers regarding loosing money is unprofessional in my opinion.

There are some sites/network with over 1TB of content that's worth downloading so I can see where someone might be a little nervous to be limited to a certain level of allowed Gigs but I believe that the least someone should do is be willing to stay longer than one month to get access to all of it.

I have to agree with pat362... whereas it's annoying when sites limit you to eg 2gb per day - stopping you even downloading just a few scenes in one go - bandwidth does cost the sites and 41GB is pretty generous.

Unless you were trying to download an entire site with eg a 3-day trial membership - which, to be fair, isn't really in the spirit of things - I can't imagine that being much of a restriction.

And if you can download >1TB of content for around $30, there's really not much of anything - porn or otherwise - that can compare in value :)

Bandwidth is still *very* expensive on the server end. Dedicating an entire month of 500kb/s to one person is losing money. I have two T1 lines here for the dedicated bandwidth and guaranteed service, cannot do what is done here on dsl or cable, and the dedicated 300kb/s service costs ~$2,000/month. Now Sapphic Erotica is on a much faster connection, so each kb/s is cheaper, but it's still very expensive compared to the residential services users compare to.

1-People producing porn make a lot less money these days than in previous years. Tube sites, Illegal torretn sites, many more places for people to get pron are the main reasons.

2-The recession has made this even worse. Most Coutries are still suffering from this world recession so people are using their porn money for other things like food, and other essentials.

3-I may be in a minority but I think that any site that limits it's members to 41GB of allowable downloads per day is more than generous. That's over 1200GB of content at the end of your month long membership.

After being blocked for downloading too much in 24 hours even though I set the DM to 550kb/s (should only be 45gb in 24hours), I was told to set this to 500kb/s by their support (41gb per day) to avoid the problem. The strange thing is I was sent rant about how European customers who actually download 24 hours a day cost them money! (European hosting being more expensive)
They only get �3.49 of my �20 after paying commission etc, so there must be no money in porn these days!

Site re-updated with mp4 format videos

They've gone through the site switching from 4mbps wmv files to 4mbps mp4 files.

They're also re-encoding the old videos from the original material, the ones that were previous available at 2mbps wmv or less. They appear to have everything going back to mid-2006 re-encoded and available on the site at 4mbps 720p mp4 format, I'd assume they're going back further as time goes forward.

Good to know about a limit. Though 50gb is quite a lot, I have to understand on their end bandwidth does cost a lot more than on our end, and they do want to pull in some revenues to create more content for us.

50gb per day is 1.5tb per month, and about 3,000 scenes - for $20, yea they offer it, but I mean, that's less than one penny per scene.

New download limit

I have just found out today that there is still and download limit on the site that is set at 50 Gb in 24 hours. I hit it today and got locked out and unfortunately lost all of my saved download list because of it downloading an over the limit message for each of the 500+ downloads still scheduled for download on ReGet download manager. Again the site says nothing about this in the contract but they are enforcing...just an FYI!!

Regarding the video quality: SE has always been ahead of the curve as far as video quality goes. Even pre-HD they have resolutions and bit rates that exceeded most sites (at that time or even now in some cases). You have to go back to 2004-05 to see 640x480 full screen video clips. I still have some of those in my collection and they hold up fine.

I'll agree with you there isn't much variety but there is some phenomenal lesbian sex with stunningly beautiful models on this site. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

It's not hard to figure out whether the site is for you. There are previews, and Sapphic Erotica themselves post 5-minute promotional clips on the tube sites.

I don't think the site is so bad. I'm currently in the middle of a full-year subscription with them & I'm still liking the site. They put out 13 scenes a month, some of them are amazing, some of them average, some are poor. Plus the huge archive going back many years.

As for canceling, even if one forgets, there are just four options try one & if you're not listed there, then try the next.

I don't think videos for very many sites were in HD until the last year and a half, so that's not really a fair criticism. The billing company to contact to cancel is the billing company that charged for the subscription. I signed up for a couple of months and had no doubt as to whom I had given my money to. If I sign up for 30 days, my next billing date is 30 days from the day you sign up. Any issues there sound more like user error than any fault of the site.

We didn't happen to snooze through our renewal, did we?

As I read here, the site has been sold to DDF, and you can see the changes. So this leans a bit towards the other topics posted.

But my "problem" is that the old sets are been taken offline. One specific example.
They used to be on the free internet in 16-20 pic previews where they start to make out, and so are part of a full set.

I don't like that sites do this, but many leave datestamps on their files. Take a closer look at the filenames of Sapphic Erotica's photos. Work for most of these sites are done up by contributing photographers who are not exclusive to a single site, so they get spread around, some sold to Sapphic Erotica, some to In Focus Girls, some to Teen Pink Videos, etc. Looking at the previous reply, I would edit it to say 6 scenes in a day is not the norm, but certainly has been done. 4 scenes in a day is more common to see.

ALS has the most rapid-fire production schedule that I am aware of, and with their focus on large insertions, I almost feel sorry for the girls ;-) Almost.

Unfortunately the "passion-less" part is, I believe, because they often have the girls working up to 6 scenes in one day! So that's 6 videos plus 6 photosets, I can't imaging how much passion is left at the end of the day.

It's still a very good site, my opinion, but the economic climate is certainly having it's impact on the work.

I think that part of what they are trying to simulate is young teens getting into girls perhaps for the first time. The shyness can also be seen as innocence. As we so frequently say here, it is a matter of taste. Exotics is right in saying there is only so much they can do. Sometimes a site seems repetitive when they update daily such as the case for SE. It becomes easier to get bored with when you can see so much of the same thing, but that could simply be because they provide so much.

I've been a member probably 10 times over the years. A lot of times in reviews you will see these words, "Passionless" and "Robotic" when talking about European models. Okay, so you obviously want porn to have dialogue, a story element or set-up (and I usually do too) which few Sapphic Erotica scenes have, but a 50 rating is usually reserved for sites that fall barely short of being fraudulent. Your review is of course your opinion, but a site with regular updates, as you mention beautiful girls, videos of high technical quality and despite some of the action's repetitiveness many hot scenes to be found, is not a terrible site that needs lots of improvement to earn even a conditional recommendation.

There are fans of lesbian porn who don't need every scene to have a set-up or who, regardless of the soundtrack, always turn the sound off, certainly they shouldn't avoid Sapphic Erotica?

Cross Sells

I just rejoined SE and during the sign up process I was presented with some cross sells. Now do not get your flogging gear out yet. This was a bit unusual for cross sells. They came up as a completely separate page after I typed in all my information so there is no way to miss it. Also, there were three optional trials but non of them were checked.

If a site is going to do cross sells that is the way to do it. They did not try to sneak anything and did not have them prechecked to screw over someone who has all their brains in their pants because they are all excited about joining a new site.
