Social integration gone awry

PornPros Network has a new members area. They have decided to go "social" and add a widget at the end of each model's scenes list named "follow her on twitter" that shows some tweets. The widget is based on a script provided by twitter.

In some cases, someone at PornPros Network took the time to find that model's twitter account and configured the widget to show tweets from that account only. For instance, April O'Neil's @undeux. Done like this, kind of makes sense and I've seen it done on other porn sites.

On other models, though, they configured the widget to merely do a search on twitter for the model's name which, in the case of popular stars like Sophie Dee, yields all kinds of questionable tweets. For newbies like Karina White it's even funny because it's full of unrelated stuff: it shows tweets mentioning any account named Karina-something and the word "white".

Maybe they should stick to only showing tweets coming from the model herself. On the other hand, I think it would make sense to use twitter differently, like placing a widget on scene pages that lets members tweet comments about the scenes.

Kind of torn on this one..

One on hand, I'm almost positive I cancelled this a few months ago yet, after reviewing my credit card bill earlier, noticed a charge from VendoSupport. After some digging, I figured out it was for this site. At first I was somewhat angry, then I started download movies.

Holy crimeney! PornPros has the absolute fastest download speed of any site I am a member of - almost double that of the next one down the line. I've been cruising at 2.5mb/sec all evening.

The content is great too. I cancelled (re-cancelled?) my membership again, so I'm just leeching until it's up on the 20th but I may consider renewing.

Not paying attention

I always try to join the big networks about once or twice a year. This is one that despite seeing the mostly positive reviews, I've never joined. To be honest, I don't think I had ever even noticed this network before.

A note to webmasters about sending sample content to TGP sites. If not for a TGP site having numerous samples of content from one of this network's sites, the "ex-girlfriend" one, I probably wouldn't have ever joined it.

The problem with me missing this network is pretty simple. When Brain Pass renamed their site to Pornstar Network, I got this (Porn Pros) network confused with that one. So far, I agree with Pat's review about the fake cum sites on here being overdone, but I do like a lot of these models and a lot of the content, I do pretty good with imagining reality situations so I'll review it or some of the sites that stand out within the network, once I have some time to look at the content.

DNS problems

Again I found the network would not load but the issue is with the DNS records. The DNS servers for my office ISP, the ISP I use in my flat and the ISP in my girlfriends place all cannot resolve www.pornpros.com to their server IP addresses resulting in a server not found error when trying to view them. If you have problems like this I suggest using www.opendns.org for your DNS servers instead. I had been using opendns on another network for a while and find them to be very stable and fast, it's worth switching even if you dont have this specific issue.

I'm not sure who's fault this is but this is the first site that I have had this problem with and its been going on for a long while.

After a prolonged period when the site would not even load for me I was finally able to check out all of the new massive mammoried mama's added to freaks of boobs since I was last a member about 6 months ago. Well that ended badly when I found nothing new since September 2010.

Not dissuaded, I thought I would have a poke around some of the other sites. After all, the whole site could fall foul of whatever technical issues plagued it for all those months and I would not get another chance.

After a while I started to experience some confusion as many of the latest updates or even ALL of the content on brand new sites looked very familier to me. The confusion was soon replaced with a feeling that some something is rotten in the state of Denmark and it was not the crusty plastic cocks they seem so fond of.

For example, sites like flexible positions and deep throat love are posting content from 2008 as new. LOL Cumshots is just reposting the same old crap from other network sites but pretending to be a new speparate site. To make matters worse, they are not just fudging the dates on the updates like other naughty sites, they leave the old update on the site meaning that the numbers of videos a site has are artificially inflated.

I am glad the credit card I used for past subscriptions has expired. When they quite clearly have no qualms in tricking you at every turn I hate to think what they would be prepared to do to with your CC details.

Bottom line, they actually have some nice stuff. Freaks of boobs was one of my favourite sites and their photo sets are really nice. But I will not risk my the chance of being ripped of by this bunch of jokers so I wont be joining again even and I advise you all to do the same.

Source of spam?

I started to sign up for a membership at this site, then stopped before completing the process. I did enter a username and email address, and a password, but did not enter my credit card number. Then I decided not to join, and went to another site.

Less than an hour later, I got 3 emails. One email told me "Your account has been set up and will be activated the first time you log in." That account is for AmateurMatch.

My email address was the same I had entered at Porn Pros Network.
The username on the account was the name I had entered at Porn Pros Network + 1 digit at the end.

The account is for AmateurMatch.

I got 2 other emails from AmateurMatch:
1 email is the AmateurMatch September newsletter.
1 email advises me to add a photo of myself and complete my Advanced Profile to increase my chances of finding someone.

I never heard of AmateurMatch before, and never signed up for it.

I made a mistake giving my main email address to Porn Pros, even though I did not enter my real name, just a user name. And that user name I gave formed the basis of my membership name in AmateurMatch.

And I did not even finish the signup process at Porn Pros. Their server apparently copies usernames and email addresses, even in a partially completed signup process.

Edit01: The only other time I used that same username was at a different porn site I did sign up with about 2 1/2 months ago, but I doubt the AmateurMatch spam came from that other site, because I gave the other site my full information on signup (Legal name, credit card data, etc.).

The new review of Porn Pros has me THOROUGHLY confused.

How does a site go from being de-listed to being given a good review with no discussion of that issue.

And how does a site go from being cited as "no updates in over a month" to "updating every day"

And how does a network that adds and substracts sites that are part of their network, as this one does, not have that as part of the discussion in the review.

I dunno, but I wouldn't be impressed if a PU member had done that review.

The fact that Porn Pros has business practices that caused PU and TBP to make the special announcement proves, once again, that PU is worth far more than the price of admission.

Trial Not Worth a Dollar.

You get more content by just going to the website and looking around verse paying for a dollar to get a closer look. In fact, you don't get to do anything at all other than look at some pictures only.

Also, a fair warning if you thinking of joining in any way and if your canceling.

They will try to get you to join other sites during the joining process and the cancellation process. PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION and don't steam though the pages.

Before pressing the button join, they asked me if I'd like another membership or trial onto two websites. I clicked the off since it's already clicked for you. After canceling, they did it again where the options of joining another site was clicked for me.

Possible the worst I've even witness.

Outrageously slow download times

Not only is this site riddled with creepy upgrade demands, but once you finally get to the videos available the download times are 147 KB/sec and worse. Not only that, once the damn thing is downloaded, it sticks when you play it. Terrible site. Avoid it like the plague ... or a bad case of crabs.

20% of new updates are non-original content

Porn Pros Network currently has 21 sites but only 15 of them have original exclusive scenes. There are 6 sites that amount to 20% of the current updates and consist of scenes from DVDs easily locatable at DVD porn sites.

The free tour doesn't make much emphasis on these 6 sites but the updates appear mixed at the same importance level with the exclusive scenes on the updates list inside the members area. Performer names often have typos but sometimes they manage to identify the performer in the scene and link to her original scenes in the network.

Apart from that, it's no big deal, it's just that the network has 15 very unique and original sites instead of the 20+ they claim on the free tour. None of these sites currently has an URL of its own so that's the likely reason why they don't have a page here at PU.

The 6 sites that are releasing non-original content and the 3-4 years old DVD series they mainly come from are Asian Fuckies ("Oh, me so horny!" series by Lethal Hardcore), Big Handfuls ("Big Bodacious Knockers" series by Lethal Hardcore), Cluster Fuck Whores ("Four on the Whore" series by Platinum X Pictures), Cum Martinis ("Double Cum Cocktails" series by Lethal Hardcore), Hungry Cougars ("Mommy Fucks Best" series by Platinum X Pictures) and Mexicunts ("Mexicunts" series by Mayhem). Some of the series only have a couple of DVDs so they are likely using other series to fill in more recent updates.

Tis the season for great promotions, but..

It's not at all unusual for sites to put out promotions around holidays, and it's happening around Memorial Day too, because nothing says, I honor all the fallen soldiers like giving $5 off the price of joining a porn site - or offer $5 off the price of jeans at JC Penney.

Much as this site frustrated me with horrific download speeds and days without great updates, I also like their crazy humor and they have really hot girls, so I decided to join again when I came across a $9.95/month promo.

They make you pay for it with extra work to prevent being really reamed, though.

I joined, having unchecked an automatic extra join - and was rather amazed to see a message on the "you've joined" page that I now had a 2-day membership to PimpMegaPass and that my 2-day trial would rebill at $35.95 or some shit if I did not cancel. I looked at PimpMegaPass and it's crap, in my opinion. I cancelled very quickly - too quickly - because the cancellation for PimpMegaPass has a pre-checked trial to VIPWebPassport, which I didn't catch until my mouse was hitting the confirm button on my cancellation to PimpMegaPass. VIPWebPassport is even more worthless than PimpMegaPass so I went to cancel that crap, which was also going to rebill at $35.95 or some shit it 2 days. When I went to cancel VIPWebPassport, the cancellation on their web page says that you will be cancelled at "the end of the next rebill period" so if you cancel there, you are authorizing a charge of $35.95 or whatever it is - talk about vile!!! Luckily the credit card processor does have a phone # and you can talk to a human being. I called and told the C/S guy that answered that I wanted to cancel. He said, "Did you try to cancel on the web page?" I said, "Yes", and explained that the web page seemed to be authorizing a charge for a monthly join and that I had no interest in joining for 1 month - I hadn't even wanted a trial to the worthless site and was tricked into that. He confirmed that I would not be charged for anything at all. I said "Thank you very much."

So if you are going to join Porn Pros - be very, very careful - they're hunting panthers - actually they're hunting affiliate payoffs for joins to their worthless partner sites.

One thing I found to be a major annoyance was the amount and prominence of advertisements inside the members are. On top, along the side, on the bottom...
This is a paysite for christ' sake. I understand having an ad inside a members area, but they should be special offers for similar sites of decent quality. The ads in this site were for "Get laid now" and webcam scam.

Very bush league on their part.

Download Speeds 450 kbs/sec

I just decided to try this site after checking out the reviews and seeing a special for $17.95 a month - I'm downloading my first scene and it's coming in at 450 kbs/sec plus - notable because download speeds were one of the negatives that a number had raised about this site.

Higher Resolutions. 720x408

I downloaded some of the free trailers and I noticed the most recent ones from Cum Shot Surprise and 40 Oz Bounce were at 720x408 instead of the network standard 512x288. Latest Deep Throat Love or Jurassic Cock trailers were still at 512x288, though.

I imagine they are also releasing some of the new scenes at 720x408. Any insider info?
