You may find that sites have broken links-the download just stops. If you go off surfing, you may not know for quite a while. Most DMs let you try again and will pick up where you left off. Also, you can usually just queue up the downloads and go to work or to sleep, or whatever.

Thanks. Mbaya, I really have to take the time to try it. I've always set a normal download from a site and then went web-surfing while it downloaded. I'm really way behind the curve on this.

I love Internet Download Manager. It is very simple to use and very fast. It is the fastest of several I have tried and a lot faster than using the one that comes with the computer from Microsoft.

Hate to admit it, but I've never used a download manager despite the fact that I read about you guys using them all the time. Any suggestions for a neolythic collector who never took the time to learn about download managers?

You mention really long download times. What download manager do you use? I use Internet Download Manager and it is pretty fast.
