ITV is funded either by advertising or taxpayers and leverage a huge audience off their TV broadcast base. They have a massive economy of scale, including other networks who are sharing the production costs. It's a completely different (and much larger) business model, which is why porn sites have to charge subscriptions. And we are by no means at the upper end of the rate scale - in fact for 100% exclusive, HD content update almost daily, we're cheap. There are of course networks which steal content and make their money from obnoxious advertising, a lot more money than we make.

If your speed problem was a network issue it should have resolved itself by now. Please contact me again through our Help system, or reply to a previous support email, and we'll run some tests from our end.

But, for accuracy, I don't recall saying 'the customer is always right' - you are putting words in my mouth again!

And, I�d just like to pick up on these comments of yours:

If this is true, I�m left wondering why I�m having problems, and why you have recently imposed a download limit on your subscribers (as another reviewer here has mentioned ). I would normally have accepted your point about the lower quality of �tube� sites � and would have said so had you not been so offensive - but I�ve just watched a half hour soap opera (in brilliant quality) on ITV Player, for free, without any problem and I can jump about that footage at the click of the mouse. Again, if ITV can do it brilliantly for free, why can't Ifm do it adequately for a hefty subscription?

If you read my replies you'll see that I am not disregarding anyone's opinion; I am correcting the facts.

We (and that includes the editors, administrators, production assistants) are dedicated to our customers needs. But if you don't like reality, I mean actual reality rather than gonzo, then you probably shouldn't be a customer. I keep saying this - if you don't like our content, if it's not what does it for you, then you are better off at a mainstream porn site. But we have huge repeat business from people who like what we do, and appreciate our effort to keep the standards high.

Well if you re-read your review, you will have to agree that all your criticisms of our site are in fact related to your own expectations, based, most probably, on your extensive experience in mainstream porn. Your review was ill-informed on every front, as I pointed out in my reply at the time. So the maxim "the customer is always right" is nearly always wrong - you made incorrect statements because you commented without first acquainting yourself with the site's mission, or looking thoroughly at the site. I'm not going to piss in your pocket for your holy dollar dude. I wasn't expecting your response, but, sadly, it's about what I would have expected had I done so. I can't think why.

I'm not surprised you have no ongoing complaints about speed, I imagine that your dissatisfied customers resolve them, as I will, by taking our money elsewhere.

I'm always less than impressed when I comment about goods or services and am told by the supplier that it's someone else's fault; followed by an assertion that I should have done something different to what I have chosen to do. I have few problems with downloads from other sites so see no reason to suspect my ISP is at fault - they are one of the highest rated in the UK.

My remark about 'repetitiveness' was a comment about me and human nature rather than your content. So I don't need your assumptions about what my diet of porn may be like thank you very much, you don't know and it's not your business.

But again, you suggest that my assumed criticism arises from my faults and those of your contributors! I suppose Ifm's contributors decide amongst themselves that they are all young, slim, educated, middle-class white Australians? (Far be it from me to suggest any hint of racism here) And I expect they insist on identical studio set ups, camera positions, lighting etc. too. And that a subcommittee of them edit the footage from the shoots and select what content goes on your server.

Having said that, might I suggest a few classes in diplomacy, which, having myself recently perched on the receiving end of one of your combative rebuttals, might serve to improve your attitude.

Whether you know it or not, your somewhat history of grating replies and counter-productive attitude is getting attention amongst the crowd here at PU.
I went to great lengths to rewrite and post another review to patch up some things you disliked and remarked unfavorably on ... even giving IFM a respectable rise in my score.
Considering your initial energetic display of discord over my review, one would think the sweetened overhaul I gave it would at least get me a "thank you."......the silence is deafening.

The reason clips play and buffer so quickly on Tube sites is because they are resampled and compressed to make the files much, much smaller - and the quality obviously far inferior.

We have well connected servers in the USA and NL running way under capacity and no ongoing complaints about speed. Occasional network blockages affect every web site from time to time and they are specific to certain users due to the chain of computers between the two sites. Typically you will go through about 8 to 20 computers when you connect to any site. If you have experienced such a connection problem you shoudl have reported it to your ISP, though typically they will wait for the problem to resolve itself. That is the internet.

As for your criticisms about the 'pose', this is due to your steady diet of fake porn. Most girls masturbate quietly on their backs. Our contributors are not models, they are not directed; our clips document the real thing. If you would rather see models or actresses squirm and squeal, get up on all fours while looking back to the camera and inserting a huge dildo, then stick with acted porn, as that is not how anybody masturbates for pleasure. I agree with the positive comments others have made about the concept, models, artistic presentation and skilful editing and presentation of the content.

But, and it's a very big but: having been encouraged to subscribe by seeing Ifm videos on xHamster (where downloads are very simple, and quick, and allow you to jump about the clips immediately within seconds of downloading) I've found the site is absolutely spoiled by tediously slow download speeds, apparently un-openable and incomplete clips and the inability to hop about the clips with a mouse-click.

Although I have a modern laptop and I'm reasonably competent with it I acknowledge I may not have the skills to get the best out of the Ifm server, but if xHamster can provide a slick presentation with nearly every video for free, why can't Ifm do it for a substantial subscription???

And as others have said, the 'formula' looks and pose (NB singular!) become boringly repetitious very quickly.

3/10 Very Disappointing

Ok it's fine to have personal preferences, we all do, but in writing a pub;ic review it's more useful to others if you describe the content objectively and then you can discuss your tastes. Otherwise you're coming from the point of view that some girls are "correct" and some are "incorrect". These are people you're talking about, and what might be "badly proportioned" to you is "ideal" for others.

If there is any consolation, for what its worth, your score was among the highest I've given...and overall, dispite the barbs, I think I left a more than a favorable impression on those who might be interested in becoming your members.

Let me try and address your issues, if I may:
I didn't read your "about" section because if I weren't already sold on joining your site ( from other sources) I would be $29.95 richer by now.
Call me technically challenged, but I do know, and expect operational features to be basic enough that one with normal ability isn't left spinning his wheels trying to figure out those things I pointed out in the review. To your credit, however, through simple rote, as one continues to use this site, he does ultimately learn to master those obstacles.

I won't belabor the "discount" issue except to say yours is the only site to which I've paid full membership -- a perk for Being a member of Porn Users. BTW, I did make it clear the price was right, right?

There is a "disturbing" deficit of glamor because that is exactly our purpose. Our contributors are not models. Our site is about real people as relief from mainstream porn. This is explained in the "about" section so you need not join looking for the same old cliche. That is all over the internet.

"There are an annoying number of other promoted sites splashed about" is in fact TWO static advertisements to OUR other sites on the front page sidebar. I think you would struggle to find a porn site with less advertising!

Also we do not pair girls together. The couples on our site are friends or lovers who have requested to do a shoot together.

As far as dicounts go, you could have taken a 90 day subscription at a hefty discount off the 30 day rate. I don't know what other discount you'd expect unless you join with a promotional offer, which for obvious reasons are not given away on the site itself. The update schedule you can't figure out is actually daily, at exactly the same time, and all releases are dated so you can verify that.

Thanks for a mostly positive review but if you had read our credo and understood our purpose, and been a bit more thorough with your exploration, you would probably have no criticisms at all.

Thanks for the kind words, I think you will like it as much as you did then. Nothing really has changed for the worst from what I can tell from the older content to new. If anything, I'd say things are improving. So, if you liked the old stuff then I can bet that you would like the new content, as long as the content never got repetitive or boring to you. I guess some of the models could just be great actresses, but I could also just be easy to fool. In some of the better lit scenes, I've seen contractions and squirting - a sure sign they're the real deal. If you're a masturbation fan or just looking for a change of pace from the world of gonzo, I'd say it's worth checking out. If you've never been a member there, there are over 1300 episodes online. Just be aware of the download limit and that you're not likely to download them all in a month - especially if you (like me) prefer the higher bitrate mp4 files.

For my money, I wish almost all the scenes were shot of the subjects on their backs. It's much more erotic, natural, more comfortable for the girls, and offers better camera angles.

Something I don't like are those sites that have their subjects change positions so much. It's distracting and it breaks the continunity of the whole clip. IFM isn't guilty of that and that's why I've been a frequent visitor to their site.

A nice addition to something not so nice

Joined up again and I see that they now have a bandwidth counter/warning.

"BANDWIDTH WARNING
You have reached xx% of the daily download limit. Fair use of the site permits 6GB of data per day as stated in the Terms of Use. When this limit is reached, you'll be unable to watch or download videos until tomorrow."

After you reach the limit, you see this:

"DOWNLOAD LIMIT REACHED
You have used more than 6GB of data today and reached the daily limit. Your usage will be reset in x hours x minutes and you will be able to view or download more videos."

I'm not thrilled with the limit, but it's nice to have something to monitor the usage and tell you when you can resume viewing and downloading.

Doing the calculations from what files I have, the mp4's run an average of 275MB. The wmv's are harder to average because they've upped the file sizes a couple of times over time, but I would say the newer ones run around around 80mb, the older ones around 50.

id join this site if it werent for the 3gb dl limit. i can deal with 10gb, but for a 1st time subscriber, 3gb is absurd. its clear site leechers isnt the reason for the 3gb limit, its so subscribers will have to stay a couple months to get the majority of vids

you try and be clever with the 3gb limit thinking youll force site leechers to stay longer. well guess what, they just wont join AT ALL

Here I go again. Another webmaster who doesn't agree with me so, once again, I'm incorrect and my logic must be flawed.

The issue with your saying that it was "none of your business" was a question of timing and tact, not the statement itself. As I'd said earlier on here, the emails I'd sent the site about missing videos and my silently removed forum post about those videos went unanswered. I got the response I was looking for on here, at Pornusers. And "none of your business" is about as tactless a response as I could've imagined without being overtly cussed out. A simple response to my first email with something to the effect of "the videos were removed for personal reasons" or "at the model's request" would've sufficed and put an end to the matter. I wouldn't have felt the need to post on your forum asking about them and it never would've been mentioned here at Pornusers.

But now you've even topped that. Someone downloading more than 8 videos a day should be put up for scientific study? Do you not see that there's something wrong in telling your customers and potential customers something like that? Your files average somewhere in the 7 minute range. It's not like they're full length movies. And, before you hit me with another claim of be illogical, I'm not saying there's no need for a limit. I can fully understand the need to guard against someone downloading the site in one shot then cancelling. Again, it's your responses that concern me. I'm old enough to remember when the customer was always right and you had to smile in their face even when you wanted to wring their neck. It was called "tact" or "diplomacy" All you're doing is showing me another example of how business ethics today don't seem to see the need for any of that.

Yeah - it's a very nice site with unique material. So my love/hate relationship will probably continue and you'll get $30 from me every once in a while. You're welcome.

You can probably guess as to some of the reasons that might apply, and the welfare and privacy of the contributors is our first concern. If we lose you as a member because you're offended that we won't share that info with you, so be it. Precisely because we don't run this site ruthlessly as a business, we aren't subservient to your almighty dollar, even though you do give us a great review (thanks for that!)

The download limits allow you to get about 8~10 HD videos a day. If you can use more than that, you should put yourself up for scientific study. Without the limit we would have to raise our prices because we have a huge amount of video, not subsidised by advertising, and you can thank the people who plug in, suck out a hundred gig then cancel.

I had a quick look where the webmaster/site was located because boorish responses seem (sadly) common in the U.K. and in Europe where the customer is not always King. I was surprised that the site is in Australia because Abby Winters and Girls Out West webmasters were unfailingly courteous with me in the past. I was so outraged by the fecklessness of this man that I started to read all the other comments. "Withdrawing two videos" is not a subscriber's business? I guess that means they don't really need your money, you are being allowed into an exclusive club by their benevolence and grace. Lucky you! Being a peasant who objects to their high entrance fee I guess I'll never get invited. :-)

A bit after the fact but where do I find the file sizes without being a member? I took the tour but can't see them listed anywhere. I'm sure I looked in the wrong place, so I would appreciate if you gave me a hint. As I just mentioned in another place, 3 Gigs are not a hell of a lot of data when it comes to HD mp4 files so with your present download limit knowledge of the size of the average file has become doubly important. Thanks.

Man, I was really shocked by the webmaster's answer you got re. Download Limits. HD files are not small and 3 Gigs a day are easily used up without even blinking. I just got finished downloading four scenes from VideoBox and altogether they came to about 3 Gigs and they are not even HD. I might have been tempted to subscribe to this site, given all the good reviews, but rude webmasters I don't need. What if I ever made a suggestion or complaint as a member? I sure wouldn't want to be bombarded with sarcasm.

Just an update

With what I'll call the down slide of AbbyWinters, it seems I'm down to two staples - IFeelMyself and AllOver30.
Since it doesn't make too much sense to me to keep reviewing the same sites over and over, I guess I'll be sticking to comments when I see something noteworthy on those sites.

On May 7th of this year, IFM rolled out some really nice crystal clear mp4 files. Starting with the hi-res files, they've changed the page layout slightly so you no longer have to set your media preference for the file type you want. Each preview picture has all the download options available right below it - 1280 resolution mp4 (If available), 640 resolution mp4 and wmv, and lower res wmv and m4v files. I don't know the specifics for the lower res files as I've never downloaded them.

There is one curiosity with the new files though. I don't know if it's just because the hi-def is relatively new on the site, but some of the files they have tagged as HD have mp4 files that are no higher resolution than the 640 wmv files. And some of the videos still aren't available in HD mp4 yet. It remains to be seen if this is just their running out material they had already shot, or if the truly HD files are going to hit or miss from now on.

I have a love/hate relationship going here. The content's great. Some of the responses their reps have left on here leave something to be desired. Telling someone it's none of your business why they've done something they've done or that the download limit "only bothers people who are sucking the site dry" is just the kind of thing that reminds me that porn is a business, nothing more. So it seems these days - Buy my product, take what you get.

I can certainly appreciate the realism of the site. But I didn't miss the point any more than I've gotten tired of seeing the same commercials on televsion every day. Repetitive is repetitive.

And, even though I think you could've worded it differently, the none of your business response you just gave me would've been more appreciated at the time I emailed the site to ask about the missing videos - not months later.

The higher resolution is a welcome addition to the site and probably what will bring me back from time to time - but I'll just have to keep in mind that it's a business and that customer concerns may or may not be answered. I live in the US, so I'm used to that kind of thing.

I think you're missing the point, that IFM is about authenticity. We get that by respecting our contributors and filming them the way they actually masturbate. A few have unusual techniques and those are the often the most interesting videos, I agree. But we're not going to tell a girl to hump the dishwasher or get off with a coke bottle, if that's not what she does. Chuck, the point of IFM is to show us how girls really masturbate, and the orgasms are real. We don't tell the girls how to do it, we film them doing it their way. The WMV files aren't the highest res, use the MP4's which are a universal format. Teh file sizes are given, you don't need to join to see that. the 3G limit is per day, which is a hell of a lot of data so it only bothers people who are sucking the site dry.

Nope - I can't stay away from this one. But I always try to go back after the content has built up. Since there's a 3 gig download limit, I'm trying to calculate the best time to rejoin, so I'm curious if anyone currently with the site can tell me the average file size of the new HD files.
