As I recall, the site used Quicktime player, and that usually meant that the file after it streamed was in a temporary folder that you could copy.

Don't know if they changed to flash or not (probably did) and if thats the case then that won't work anymore..

It's been about 9 months since the latest TBP review that stated no downloads. But can anybody surprise me and tell me that you can download the videos now?

I doubt that so does anybody know if any of the DVD sites like videobox have Digital Playground movies in their library? I'd like get at them.

No downloads? C'mon!

I wanted to give this site a shot given how difficult her contracts make it to find much Jesse Jane material out there "gratis". I've pulled up a few videos here and there and would like to see a bigger collection of her work, given how big a star she is, but thanks to TBP I won't be joining due to the no downloads. Seriously jesse? I know they're trying to make it as hard as possible for people to see her videos for free, but who sits around streaming videos anymore these days? When I'm a member, I download in the background for later viewing.

The final straw for me was when my fave scenes started disappearing from the site. In addition to all of the other limitations, they rotate scenes out after some unspecified period of time without warning - bleeccch!

I'm looking at the four "official" reviews and each seem to address the no downloads issue clearly ...

Vanessa: No downloads.
Spencer: Movies play in browser only.
Duke: In-browser Flash video format
Maggie: Videos streaming only.

DRM applies to downloaded videos so it wouldn't really apply to streamed only vids.

Sorry if you found that confusing.

A relevant warning from PU-staff, but maybe TBP/PU should - also - take a look the TBP-review where it states:
"DRM: Video downloads have No DRM (no license restrictions)."
Ok, it also says: "In Browser" - quite confusing.

But thanks to Trashmans review I realized, that there'e no download of videos at all - only viewing (I hate that). So decided not to join after reading that review.

Anyway: thanks for that importend warning about cancel - it'd be great with those kinds of warning for sites alike in the future...

I've yet to find a streaming video that isn't somewhat choppy and mediocre in quality at best. That includes using multiple computers and different ISP's. No downloads for me = no quality videos.

Excellent review as usual.

It's interesting the fact they are hosting videos on akamai. This should mean videos are served to each user from a server nearby so users will get excellent speeds wherever they are located. I've never come across another porn site using this kind of CDN.

I've never been a member but, if the main site doesn't deliver, it's a pity. It's sad that a company that cares enough about their product to set up a CDN doesn't also care about other aspects of the site.

Streaming Quicktime is something you expect to see on someone's homemade website.

I wouldn't have a problem with these companies setting up sites to promote their DVDs, but it should be for a nominal fee, not the going rate for a premium site.

People should avoid this site.

I joined this once, nearly three years ago now, and I agree that it's underwhelming. The content is exclusive and a lot of the girls are hot and some of the sex is really good, too, BUT Quicktime files? In such small sizes? Streaming only? In 2009?

If you like Digital Playground material, joining DigitalPlayground.com is a much better deal. Frequent updates of a range of their material, including the Jack's stuff, with lots of photo set updates as well as vids. They don't allow downloading of scenes, though, it's all streamed - and the streamed display is decent, though not great. They also rotate material out without warning. And if you're joining to see Pirates, well it's not there.

I think when I joined Digital Playground, it was $19.95/month, then I was going to leave after 1 month and they offered me the site at $10/month. I stuck around a while. Then I got bored and they rotated out my favorite scenes - Nautica Thorn from the first and second Mission Teen America's - so I really had no reason to stick around since I've never been a big fan of Jesse Jane - and they're producing so much stuff that's just not hot.

I see your point. Jack's streaming vids at least will display "full screen" and are replayable. Vivid's shit vids are in that tiny, tiny little window and offer no control to the user and are so long that any attempt at fowarding or replaying leads to total meltdown.

Vivid charges $10 for this pleasure; Jack's is $30 a month. I'd say Jack's is better than .. let me rephrase that: not as bad as Vivid, but still bad enough to leave the subscriber with that "got fucked over again" feeling.

I'd almost forgotten about Jack's Playground, so here's some info. Mind you, I joined it once, in Jan. 2006.

Good: The vids and pics are exclusive. Many of the girls are hot, but not all. The hardcore has more belly down flat, enter from the rear prolonged fucking than I've seen at most sites. And it is HOT!! The vids of Montana Rae and Teagan Presley doing this will be replayed vividly in my mind as the death rattle takes hold, whenever that will be.

Bad: The vids are QT only and STREAMING ONLY. SHIT!! The pics are 900px on the long side (not too long, no). No zips, either, pardner. Not all of it is hardcore. Jana Cova and Sophie Paris, to give just two examples, are there to show off their stuff (mostly from 2+ years ago).

He advertises his DVDs, and that's what I think he's trying mostly to sell, but there are no content previews to speak of, just fairly brief descriptions.

A month membership just to the site costs $30. I just paid a visit and counted only 34 updates for this year so far. Nothing indicates any change in the past 20 or so months in terms of video access, pic sizes or zips. This info may not be technically "current," but it might be just as good nonetheless.
