I did download Virtua Guy a year or two back with no problems, but it was so annoying. Whenever I turned on my computer I'd get a wolf whistle and a mini man stripping off in the corner of my screen. Was a great gimmick for a while, but eventually I needed to shut him up so deleted it. I had no problens downloading though....

Heh heh it's so nice that people on here are so open-minded, when I joined I didn't know if gay reviewers would be as welcome as it is a mainly straight-orientated site, but I've been made to feel very welcome!

Novel idea but I had technical issues

I was curious to see how this site worked so I downloaded the free software - I was very reluctant to download software from a porno site but my virus-checker said it was OK and it seemed to be reviewed okay on TBP so I decided to chance it.

The download gives you a couple of sample strips - the guys only strip down to their underwear but it gives you a good idea of what it's like. I was very impressed with the quality of the guys and the image size - I remember software like this when I first got the net back in 1999 or so and the image was tiny!

Still, I found I had too many technical issues with the software which put me off downloading any paid content - after working great once, after a re-start the software appeared in my start menu but simply wouldn't open - if I clicked on it nothing happened. A techy (gay!) friend of mine tried but it simply wouldn't open so I ended up deleting it.

I also don't like the way you have to download software to get any info on prices etc - the site itself is very basic and doesn't tell you much, they just want you to download the software.

I haven't done a full review since I've only tried the preview stuff.

As it is a novel site but the software issues mean I think I'll stick to regular porno.

Yes, the monthly membership you get a random new girl downloaded to your software either daily or every two days (I forget which). With the membership you have no control over which cards you receive when. But with a membership if there is a specific card you want, you always have the option to purchase it through the credit system.

I have a bit to toss in on this, too. Last two times I resubscribed, I was promised a small amount of free tokens to get any photoset(s) or video I choose. Can't remember how many or how much. Didn't matter, 'cause those "bonus" extras were promised but not delivered (didn't show up on my account).

I tried contacting their customer service, too, and didn't get any kind of reply.

After going through this twice, I decided to return the favor and I avoid the site.

Subscription and "Service" issues

I subscribed to the site several days ago and while the biller was quick to take my money, the website has yet to acknowledge that I even have an account.
By the way, don't be fooled by their "Customer Service" area on the website, there is no Customer Service going on with these folks...I can see why they have a forum..."free support" via their members...because you cannot get an answer from the actual company at all.
I guess when you have as many members as they tout up what's one or two lost subscriptions or ticked off customers...big deal, right?
My advice, buyer beware...thanks

Ah man I had no idea it was basically implemented in to the same virtua girl software. Thanks for this info, I think this will help anyone who is interested in the new cards this 'site' has to offer. I think they are doing the right thing by implementing this as a basic addition to the already virtua girl software present. They do some stripping like on virtuagirl, though they focus more of the scenes on more explicit things. This is not a separate site, you have a virtuagirl account, just log in to desk babes using the same information, download that software and install it. It will replace the virtuagirl version you currently have with the update that handles both, as you can see in the screenshot I took (bet you can't guess who my fav girl is).

There is no subscription to desk babes currently, it's all credit based, but as you have just one account, if you have credits for VirtuaGirl you can use them for desk babes, and vice versa.

The only change I see for users is, once Desk Babes is installed I only receive the daily demo cards for desk babes and not virtuagirl anymore. I never watch the demos anyways so it's not something I care about. But anyways, yeah the software is free and the demos are free, just log in and check it out.

Ah no shit? Is it like the virtua girl scenes with two or more girls but with more explicit stuff? Did you buy scenes or did you do the monthly subscription with a scene a day? I think the addition to what appears to be lesbian scenes to the Virtua Girl lineup (what I believe this site is) is kind of a waste. I don't mind lesbian scenes but I always say Virtua Girl as a unique way of watching women strip on your desktop, seeing regular sex scenes seems pointless IMHO. This site is so great at first but it gets stale pretty quick. Sorry, I was not thinking that clearly when I replied to your concerns about downloading software safely.

What I wrote before, about being safe with downloading software, is true and good advice.

But you do need to download software from Virtua Girl HD if you want to enjoy/view some of their video files.

Virtua Girl HD is a well-known porn site.

The software that you download from that site, to play their specially encoded visual files, should be safe.

I would still scan the downloaded software from that site, with an anti-virus program, but you should be safe downloading and installing the program to play their specially encoded visual files.

It would be helpful if you gave the site URL that you are referring to.

As for viruses and other malware, most PC experts advise not to download software from a site that you do not thoroughly trust. And even then, if you download software from a site that you do trust, you should scan it with an anti-virus program that you have kept updated on your PC.

Also, before you download any software, it's a good idea to do a Google search on that specific software, to see if there are any commonly known problems with that software.

There's a lot of malware besides viruses, and once your PC gets infected with this malware, it can be easy or very hard to get rid of the malware.

Anyone connected to the Internet needs a currently updated anti-virus program plus a firewall. And even that is just the start of trying to be safe.

Have you heard of virtualfem.com? Its a pretty poor website but I tried it out for sh--ts and giggles just to see what they have to offer. Despite the poor quality they have a good idea when utilizing interactive A.I. a user would type up a message the girl would respond back. Which brings another idea that comes to mind, You have interactive DVD on just one or two girls that's popular on your website as a test run. There are adult interactive movies have yet to really improve much on their product. Still they have a good idea. A VirtualGirl on DVD will be used as a kind of application to your computer to alert you on e-mail, shutting down your computer, or alerting to you on other omputer functions, as well as entertaining with the user. Pretty much do whatever the user wants with what can be put on DVD. And if you have updates on this particular model to develop her A.I. she can be downloaded thru the website. I would call it "My VirtuaGirl"

I think we have more then enough stripteasing already. As for my suggestion, you have a great product that hasn't fully reached its potiential if done right (IMHO). What I am suggestions is take Virtua Girl to the next level, like adding voices or sound, provide somekind of interaction with the user, like she would say "Hi Honey, what do you want me to do?" She would just tease you or show emotion if your not playing with her on your mouse (like show boredom). And you can click on what you want her to do other then strip. I think the girls should be more explicit and what I mean explicit show lesbian, and masturbation theme. Anyway I just think Virtua Girl has so much room for improvement that it would be unfortunate if someone uses the idea your company has and took it a step further and call it virtua-goddess.com.

Consider this an extension of my comment. I just finished a second time as the subscriber. There were very little to no photo updates to the site since the last time I was paying for a month here, in May.

I've given it a rating of 60 for that reason. It certainly doesn't qualify as being in the 80's as a photography niche site now.

An odd find

Stumbled upon this, looked up the TBP info on it, saw it was still $14.95, so I tried it. First off, should you be wondering, it's not a DDF site, such as 1byday, at all. It's a mere smattering of content that appeared at VirtuaGirl 2 (pre "HD"). The layout is similar to VirtualGirl in the gallery pages.

There are only 30 models, including some well-known Europeans/number of photosets: Aneta Smrhova/1, Sophie Moone/3, Sophie Paris/1, Deni Moore/3, Peaches/2, Mia Stone/2, and Radka/5 the blonde girl who used to show up at HegreArt, DDF, ActionGirls, etc.).

Many of the photosets are at 3000px, which they never were at VirtuaGirl. (Peaches is only small pics.)

It is old content, although the brief "calendar" section is updated to 5/28/08. The "VIP" link, which is stated as providing access to 150 sites, doesn't work.

For a site that TBP first listed in Feb. 2005, there isn't much in the way of the "daily" updates the site claims. There is a statement on the site to the effect that they've revised it and that "the total number of girls shrinked a bit (ouch)." So hopefully there's more to come (again, that is, it would seem) -- one new girl per day, they say.

At least most of the pics are at 3000px. Too bad that size wasn't available at VirtuaGirl (and the one time I was there, unavailable at VirtuaGirl HD).

It does work just as he said. If you download it you get to try it out, it works like a tour page with movie downloads that do not show the how movie. I will tell you though that you cant move the girl around the screen and it can get in the way at times. It also sucks system resources, sometimes a little too much. Personally I have had a lot of problems with my copy of it. I have had to redownload it a few times. It is pretty cool, but it sucks that once you cancel you lose anything you did not pay extra for....so it is find like a DRM movie, you lose it unless you pay more. The concept it cool, but they should let us keep the stuff that is downloaded in my opinion.

Well, I got one, through Amazon. Showed up yesterday. Formatted it from FAT (yuck!) to NTFS in about 1:45. Have put on the A and B models from the old FAT and other drive (a traffic merging). Those alone are 20 GB, and just photos. Jeez.

The thing really is quiet, except when I'm throwing scads of heavy folders at it. I like the minimalist, iconic blue-light concentric circles thing, too.

Thanks for the tip, and Khan, too, who will probably be reading.

Now Marina has plenty of space to do her car-hop strip routine.
