Great Community

Have been a member of suicide girls for 2+ years and LOVE the site. I have been a member of Carol Cox, Wifeys World, Brandi Love, Liz Vicious and Sammy4U.

Suicide Girls was, in my opinion way ahead of its time. It was a always a "community" not just a porn site.

Maybe some don't like that but it's 2010 and I expect more from a site than just spitting back content to me.

Cluttered and confusing it is - but photosets are easy:

When you first log onto the site, you'll see the "Set of the Day" in the upper left hand of the home page and "previous sets of the day" just to the right of that. Then if you click up at the top of the home page on "Pics", you'll see 221 pages of "Sets Of The Day" and you can click on other tabs - "Member Review", "Staff Picks", "Remixes", "Misc"

There are a lot of photosets, many of them are very cool.

Now vids - that I can't help you with. I've never found any sexy vids on this site.

I haven't been a member of Suicide Girls in a few years, but from when I was a member, there is very little reason to join from a video standpoint. Obviously that may have changed the past few years, but in all honesty Suicide Girls is more of a social network of people that enjoy the alt lifestyle. The actual "Suicide Girls" (the ones with photosets) are members of the social network but also amateur/professional models. Most photosets are done by professional photogs.

From a purely porn standpoint, this isn't really that type of site. It's more geared towards interaction with all the other users as well as the girls. Think myspace for adults that love tattoos, piercings and other erotica (though not like those fake adult dating sites that claim that tag).

Confused

I am a bit confused about the site. I looked around for a while and I looked at the video section which seemed to be all user submitted stuff. If this a social site or a softcore porn site with a strong community around it? Are all the shots made by similar people or do people just update their own photo sets?

Also as a fan of videos is there any purpose in joining? I read pinkpanter's review and I'm just curious if things changed since then.

Finally how easy is the navigation of the site? My partner might be interested in the content but she is pretty computer illiterate. The tag thing sounds cool but are there any other similar options?

I've only been a member for a month or two. The sets that I've saved range from the highest pixel measurements from 1000 to 1200. 1200 are the most recent sets.

I have found no zip options of the sets. I believe they expect you to "collect" them in your favorites. And since the yearly membership is so cheap, I can see why they would feel that way. I'm old fashioned and like to archive them to my hard drive. I've resorted to viewing the sets in the HTML Gallery rather than the Flash Gallery so I can right click and save. The sets can have 60+ pics in them, so this does get monotonous.

The Flash Gallery is slick and it makes the imagines fit your screen. My screen is 1680x1050, so whatever scaling they're doing to fit my screen doesn't show any artifacts but the original images are very close to my resolution.

I really didn't like tattoos or piercings when I came into this site. It was so cheap to subscribe I had to try it. And now I'm a fan. There are a lot of gorgeous models (period) on this site. Technically they are "alt" models, but many of them are just so naturally beautiful that they stand up to whatever mainstream models are out there.

For the money, you really should give it a try. It'll either click with you or it won't. And if it doesn't, it's very little skin off your back.

Interesting

I saw this site listed as one of the top reviewed sites on PU and thought, what a load of junk. Then I took the site tour and was pretty damn impressed. It really is a whole on-line community with lots of interaction among members and with the models as well ... sort of like PU for alternative crowd. Millions of pics, thousands of vids, updates several times a day and an inexpensive price. I'm not really into the tats and alternative thing but I'm thinking it might be worth a membership in the near future.

As an aside, does anyone know what sizes the pics come and if there is a zip function? The tour pics weren't much better than 900x600 so I was hoping the members area had them larger sized.

I'm not generally a fan of tats or piercings, but I very clearly remember being impressed by many of the girls at SG. A good deal of them were so sexy I forgot about the tats and piercings.

Besides, in my experience, some of the girls who have that kind of SG fashion sense are flat-out sweethearts on the inside. And smart as all hell.

man.. I would join up if I were you... I just got through looking at Aleda's portfolio..man she's got a great body...This site is way better than it was two years ago...the flash loader runs better...( 2 yrs ago, I had problems with it working correctly) and the pics are bigger...I put the flash gallery up and it auto loads each pic..(you can do other things done while looking at it..) least expensive membership...and I am on it sometimes more than my other memberships..go figure..

Make that a trio of fans of this site - I'm the newest, I guess. I had been interested in checking it out and took the leap when they had a special in October. There are some negatives - there are more models that I am not attracted to than at other sites that I enjoy. The pic size is unimpressive. The vids are non-existant.

I's a tweener site - somewhere between a lifestyle site and a pic site. The navigation on the groups/forum thing is not particularly user friendly for someone like me that doesn't want to spend much time figuring it all out.

So what's good about it?

The photography is good and it's unique and it's fresh. You don't see the same poses in the same places repeated in every photo set as you do at many sites. You see different looking models in different looking places with different angles and just generally a lot more variety to the site.

There are a LOT of updates to this site. Besides the 2-3 sets posted daily of official Suicide Girls, there are many sets posted by "hopefuls". And the sets posted by hopefuls are not of noticeably lesser quality than the sets of official Suicide Girls.

Of course, if you don't care for tats and piercings, there's probably no reason for you to join this site, because tats and piercings are de rigeur, but there's a lot of cute tatted up honeys and there are very few models here that you will have seen at other sites, another "fresh" quality of this site.

I find the level of eroticism to be comparable to Met Art. You're not gonna find much intense girl/girl action or intense toy action, you're gonna find girls posing and stripping in good quality photography, except instead of Eastern European waifish honeys, the main thing at Met Art, it's global tatted up babes - some that aren't that tremendously attractive to me, but many that are - and there are enough updates that it has never taken me more than a few seconds to find a set of a girl that I want to spend some time looking at. So there ya go.

I rejoined for one full year for only $29- four months ago... (as a return customer)I let it lapse about six months, they emailed me with the rejoin offer--and I took them up on it. Suicide Girls really offers beautifully photographed sets.. if you can deal with 1000 X 660; 660 x 1000 pic size you will get sets comparable to the major sites.. the only difference is the models are more artsy,dark, tattoed, some 50's pin up dolls, some are goth but not all....most are 18-23 range and are cute..college girls.. and true first timers; I'm a porn veteran and I've been getting off to this site for three years.... first timers can join for $48 for 1 year, $24 for three months, or twelve a month... for those on tight budgets this is my third year with SG...I was online this morning on the SG site looking throught their recent sets.. and I would consider this a dark horse site.. Another thing quite notable about this site is the price - $48 for 1 year, $24 for 3 months, $12 for 1 month - so if you think you might have the slightest interest in the content, they certainly make it easy to partake.
