This review is incorrect about zips - from the home page, click on latest in the galleries area, then click on the latest gallery. You'll get a page displaying pics - 40, which is an average size for recent galleries - then you'll have "Download this gallery" at the bottom with a drop-down menu for choosing the size of the pics that you want from Small to Extra Extra Large - 5 choices. You click on "Extra Extra Large" and Save File pops up immediately. Click on that and you're downloading a file of 70 mb.

As to vids, they are pretty much non-existent when it comes to new ones. The most recent internet exclusive vid was released 1/01/09, the most recent before that were released 2/27/08.

They also no longer have live shows. The most recent of those was 2/03/09.

They do release bottom-of-the-run porn comps frequently - they have so little interest to me, I'm not even checking the specifics.

So it's all about pics for new stuff - and the archives, which go back a ways.

I'm tempted to join due to your review. There's something about the old magazines that drums up a steamy nostalgia, and you can remember how it felt when you first saw them. There was a site somewhere that offered all the archives for the Brit mag, Mayfair, and free of charge. That was a trip.

Hi Rome 476,
It is hard to tell how many of the videos are b/g hardcore. I counted 130 DVD's and TBP says over 500. I believe TBP has the number of scenes. The search engine is no help, as they are not tagged by category. I expect the number of scenes that are b/g hardcore is at least 300. But, be warned the quality is not that great. I definitely would not join for the videos alone. Most videos do not have Pets in them, they are just DVD's. Some do feature models that have photo sets on the site, however.

My main reason for joining both was basically the same. I like hairy, but trimmed bush. I feel the comparison has some validity, even though the photographic styles are different. I don't care much for glamour photography, but I still liked the site a lot. If they only had decent videos! As far as zips, it totally baffles me why they don't. The site is very professional and does so many things well. They have several size options for the photos, but no way to zipdownload.

I'm surprised that there weren't zips, because the last time I was there (to the end of July), they had them in several pic sizes.

Just yesterday, I gave up on trying to rejoin. First, they wouldn't let me because my email address was already in their system (?). So I contacted them through their website (which was a bit of an exercise in hoop-jumping). Never got a reply. Then I created a gmail account and tried to use that (after all, Penthouse recommends Yahoo, so I figured one free email is as good as another) to get the password sent from them. Again, no cigarillo.

And now I read that there are no zips. Guess somehow I've been done a favor!

For the life of me, I cannot understand why they run the site the way they do as far as getting subscribers is concerned. They precheck for a year's subscription for some (see markfx above), and utterly reject even persistent returners!

Fortunately, I do have recourse in this handy phrase: "Fuck it." And "fuck it" it shall remain.

Be very careful when joining; I was charged for the year membership. Their join page automatically has the year option checked. Evidently even visiting this page signed me up, and when i revisited it they charged me twice!
In their favor, they graciously removed the charges.

Yes, they do B/G like 1x or 2x per week in galleries. Lez gets some airtime, too.

Pics per are kinda skimpy, usually, like in the 20-30 range. Sounds like you've never been. There's a shitload of stuff.

Another site that does this is Mac and Bumble, or they did the last time I was on it. I don't think it was so much your fault as you may think. Penthouse's join page says, "One month access" for the join price with no asterisks or small print. One month access should mean for the next 30 days you have access to the site since you paid for 1 month access. Also don't see anything in their terms of service about it.

I really hate when sites do this. They do this for two reasons. One being they figure if you are canceling now than obviously they will not get any more of your so why give you more content. Secondly, if people realize that canceling early will discontinue their access immediately than they may be less likely to cancel in advance. Thus, people will be more likely to forget or miss the timing and end up paying for an additional month. Either way I feel it is a sneaky practice.

I suppose they do -- as long as you don't close the account until the last possible minute. Maybe it's a matter of recording not only the date you subscribe, but also the hour and the minute!

In which case, it would be best to subscribe in the evening, their time, so as not to miss any updates -- which post in the mornings.

Then maybe you can grab that last, 30th day update in the morning and quit!

I like to cancel my memberships with enough time between the date I cancel and the date that access ends.

It was with this in mind -- too much in mind, as it turned out -- that I "cancelled" at Penthouse, because there, you don't "cancel," you close the account. So I did.

Well, I can't blame anyone but myself for the results: immediate lost access. And my subscription term wasn't completely over. Oh, f-- oh, well. "Close the account" is clear enough language, I believe. Maybe I should switch to a stronger coffee brew.

So this little cautionary tale is for anyone else who might (?) make the same mistake I did? Anyone?

No, no, I understood you completely. You were very clear. Like I said, it's cheesy, but really no surprise.

I don't like sites getting my email address for no apparent reason. If I'm actually joining the site, as in paying for it, of course, they're going to need my email.

I may be being a little naive, but I'd rather have Penthouse having my email address rather than many of the other sites out there. The company has been around long enough to know the score. If they email me, I suspect it won't be the same putrid crap that spams everyone.

I did give them my email address, since I have a throwaway one just for this purpose, and I do intend to try the site. They simply sent me my password, and I have received nothing else from them.

I will admit it's a little cheesy, but let's be realistic. The company is in the business for money. They don't give their magazine away for free at the news stand, so why would they give their content away for free on the web? No revenue means no money for site upkeep and no money for new content, therefore no site. I don't think the print media is in the shape these days to be subsidizing web content, especially when it comes to adult content, which is far superior on the web, in any case.

I would have preferred a better free tour setup, but I've seen a lot worse from a lot of sites promising much more. Having some sample pictures demonstrating all the available sizes, for instance, would be rather helpful.

Cancel: First I tried to cancel using their web form. It took me to the Sexy-Cassia cancel form. Thought I'd try anyway, since maybe it was intended as the SexyJamie form but somebody forgot to change the "Cassia" when they might have duped that form for use with the Jamie site. But no. Didn't recognize my info.

Cancel: So then I e-mailed a request to cancel. After all, in their subscription acknowledgement e-mail, it says "Rather use email? Drop us a line at sjsupport@dhdmedia.com and we'll always get back to you within an hour." (Right.)

Cancel: So, 11 hours later, I finally called their toll-free number and got it taken care of in about 2 minutes.

This is how it works sometimes with DHD Media. They're so TOGETHER.

I'd been a member once, in Sept. 2006. Your review got me interested, so I went back.

There are certainly more photosets of Jamie now, so they've been updating, slowly but it's becoming a nice collection. I also noticed the file sizes of the 2000px photos are considerable, meaning they're not being subject to a lot of data loss. Same thing also with the more recent 1800px and 1400px in the girlfriends section. One 1400px photo of Karlie Montana was 1.1MB! (Not the norm here, but it's nice.)

But once you get past the most recent page of the girlfriends section, there's a lot of old content from MatrixNudes in small sizes (1024px) and dicey quality, as if these files have been passed around and reopened so many times that they've noticeably degraded.

And believe it or not, the navigation has improved! The site also pages faster than it did 21 months ago. It was a real coffee sipper back then, it was so damn slow.

But I do agree that it's still "not the best" because you can't just click to return to the thumbs once you've gotten past the first page of them. You have to backbutton for every page you've been on in a gallery. A link path or a scripted button would solve that. But ... no-o-o-o-o!

Added sites not avalivble

When I signed up for this site, I was under the impression that three additional sites were included in the price. There are listed on this web site. After I signed up I tried to get into the sites and was denied. When I contacted Penthouse, they said that the additional site are not included. Kind of a rip-off if you ask me. If you are not giving something don't advertize the fact. When I complained about it, basically I was told "too bad". Get any type of refund for the false advertizing, no.

Get this...when you hit the join button, you get taken to a page that says "Join For Free". Oh Boy, I better sign up right now!!! So you send in your email address, risking spam, and you get your magic password! Then everything you click on leads you to the real join page! Shame on you Penthouse for this antique P.T. New Design

Penthouse now has a new design, which is brighter and more pleasing to the eye. The navigation is more straightforward. The galleries now show all the thumbs on a single page. It's looking good.

About a week ago, there were no zips made available for the newer galleries at least. Fortunately, that problem has since been fixed and zips are available in 5 different photo sizes.

One other thing is that sometimes thumbs in the lists of galleries don't all show, though most do.

I took a look at the issue you described and I can see that
Georgia Rules was updated on Jun 13th. Here is the link:

Sometimes we don't post a gallery scheduled for a particular day until the afternoon so it looks like the set is a 'phantom' but that just means it will be added in a couple of hours.

If you live in Europe it might seem like lots of posts are late because we add galleries and videos during our working day in New York.

We never put stuff in the calendar and then don't post it tho.
If we have the pix there is no sense keeping them to ourselves :)

Phantom Galleries

I've been a member for over a year. One thing they have bad habit of doing is listing a gallery in their coming updates, but when the day comes, the gallery isn't posted, and in fact, it never is.

Take today, for example. Two galleries are supposed to go up, and one has, but clicking the other, of "Georgia Jones," just refreshes the gallery listing page.

This has happened several times over the past few months.
