According to this news article some material in hentai key and also adult empire and other sites may contain illegal material, Best Porn and Porn Users may need to contact ASACP and these sites if possible and also change the reviews on these sites warning about these sites. I saw this article from World Sex News which is mentioned/linked from Best Porn.

Login Issues

Just joined Hentai Key. However, there are serious login issues with the site. While it recognizes my username and password, it does not recognize its own "Security Key" or CAPTCHA. Filed a support ticket as the site advises, but so far, tech support has been unresponsive. We'll see how they respond before I decide what to do.

UPDATE: Tech support contacted me via e-mail with some suggestions. The one that worked was switching from Firefox 3.0.1 to IE7. While I don't like using IE7, at least it allowed me to log in. A more detailed review to come.

no but we know them and the distributor that licenses to them, if you check hentaikey only has movies that are licensed from 1 single distributor's, anyway research for your self all you need to do is look at hentaiboss sites to know they don't have licenses to anything as those movies have not even been released yet in the usa.

this is a fact, do you research or talk to anyone in the industry that is familiar with hentai they will tell you the same, anyway don't matter to me its all porn some license most don't thats how it is.

its very simple to see who has license, hentaiboss has none thats for sure as all movies are just riped and not in drm for one and in japanese with subs, this is a fact lol surpised you don't know that.

a) japanese studios a do not allow web content in non drm format
b) they do not allow web content in japanese lanquage, that goes for licensing anime too

everyone in the industry knows that too, besides hentaikey only VOD companies have licneses, the pay % for each view t the studios, all the other sites including hentaiboss just rip dvds or take from online sites.

first off :
except Bondanime and Titanime and Lestai have these movies without no legal issues

those sites are owneed by hentaiboss and hentaiboss dont own no license to any movie period, 100% stolen content.

I know for fact that hentaikey actually owns the license t over 200 episoded and pays yearly fees to the anime studios in japan,

in fact besided vod sites hentaikey is the only site that has legal weblicenses to hentai movies, so if yoo want to support someone that gives back that would be the best site.

plus they create 1000's of orignal images comics and games while all other sites dont do nothing but steal content, so figure you get what you pay for, and yes there is so much content it's impossible to license it all i guess but at least they make an effort besides just stealing like all other sites.

okay then I understand what your talkin about better. The Hentai world is really weird when it comes to legally stuff done. And Hentai Key is lots of content to much for it all to being legal probably, when most of the stuff isnt even realesed in Euro ore Usa yet ore if ever would bee in some matters. Thats a reason why I havent saved any of my favorites and dont subscribe any Hentai + cant afford it ethier :P. Hentai Key doesnt take any responsibilty for any of network sites ethier. What I know of.

Everyone should bee concerned many Hentai sites arent entirely legal content. I would Compare downloading from Hentai Key you take same risk as you are downloading Torrents from any freebased Torrent site.

If you log in to Hentai Key and then go to Hentai Video Planet at the bottom of the page is a help link, on that help page is something about Licensed Movies.

Here is an example lets pick a movie that I know hentai key and lets say bondanime both have on their website, lets say Inma Seiden, on Hentai key it says Licensed Movie at the bottom of the thumbnail for the movie.
but on Bondanime there is no Licensed Movie notice.

Weird Legality

Legality seems to be a little weird especially on hentai sites,
one site called Hentai Movie Archive has a weird legal issue it is on the rabbits review site

and HentaiKey also has a lot of their movies with no legal issue except this one on the site, It is on Hentai Movie Planet.

"Licensed Movie" means that a DVD company has bought the copyright of that individual movie so now the only way to view this movie is by buying the DVD from a licensed store. Unfortunately, for that reason we are now forced to remove the noted movie from our site. The licenses are not held for a lifetime, if the license owner does not renew his license then they risk losing it and we would be allowed to promote this movie once again. We are always checking for expired movie licenses in this regard.

Our site is not the only site affected by this as no other site on the net can legally offer these movies so don't bother trying to find them elsewhere. Instead, we have decided to show you the thumbs without the links to let you know that although we do have this movie we cannot add them due to the licensing laws. Our network, HentaiKey, holds many quality licensed movies, allowing us to promote them as an affiliate.
