Thanks for the counseling session, but I'm afraid that you've forgotten that not everyone sees things as you do. And though it pissed me off, the more important thing is that those who do care about pixel dimensions -- and some do, believe it or not -- will know if they read the comment.

And I'm a bit tired of your pointless crusade in which you are effectively telling other people that they are wrong for having priorities different from yours. Go find something else to do. Or as you might say, worth doing.

Are we paying for the pixel dimensions, or for the visual of the images? Don't let things like this piss you off. Make a quick note of it and move on. Site put up probably $10-15k to create the 50 photosets, to which they are asking $30 for access to all of it. Is this worth letting such things get under your skin?

It's a huge surprise and an even bigger disappointment. Who would think they'd actually REDUCE the sizes of the most recent pics? That hasn't been the direction that most sites have been going (the Babelicious lot notwithstanding, at least until their recent turning back to larger than 1000px, and only on the one site they continue to update).

I can't imagine they wouldn't have the larger sizes from the original shoots, as they have large ones posted of the same models. It's not that costly to continue posting them at least as zips.

You subscribe in good faith and then pay $30 for someone else's very stupid decision. That really pisses me off.

Oh, yes - way smaller pics and/or videos/clips in horrible 3-5 GB sizes...how come people behind some sites think that's what paying users want...?
BTW: Rookie Babes webmasters can shake hands here with 21 Sextury in a new line of smaller pics....
Even as a video-clips collector, I go for some photosets, too - and it's not getting any better...in general!

I let this site build up for some time before rejoining. I only rejoined for the large-sized pics (at least 2048 pixels!). Guess what? The 53 most recent galleries go no larger than 1200!

I've really fucking had it with web sites that do this shit.

Stopped Updating

Sept. 7th was the last update in photos for this site. The thumb shows "Holly" wearing glasses and pulling her panties down to her ankles, standing on a red shag (of course) carpet. One peculiar thing is that there is no model name or title on the thumb pic itself, unlike all of the others.

So what happened? Did their lettering and layering maestro skip town?

Just want people to know since they don't date stamp the updates. And I'm not too pleased since it means that I've paid for updates I'm probably not getting.

Was going to rewrite a review. This will now suffice.

We have upgraded to HQ photos and now offer them to be viewed online in 700px and 1200px sizes and also downloaded via zip files in the following sizes: 700px, 1200px, 2400px, 3072px and for some sets 5120px. Being that the photo sets and videos are offered as HQ downloads we decided to remove the trial option and so far it seems to be working out. We are also aggressively updating daily (usually 1 photo set and 1 video per day) and also adding updated babe profiles 2-3 times per week and adding 2-4 completely new babes per month. Take a look inside and I believe you will see that during your 30 day membership we will bring you many great updates and you just may stick around longer ;-)

I usually prefer HQ photos but join the occasional site that does not have HQ photos if the smaller resolution provided is of good quality. I thought I might have a look using the trial option but this seems to have disappeared ? has this option been discontinued ?

Thanks for the tip on the slide show. Really, I think it would be better if it were off by default and the user activates it by choice.

I want you to know that I'm glad that RookieBabes has made the important change toward larger image sizes. Most of the girls there are really hot and the photographs are good quality, plus they're exclusive!

It's one site that I'll definitely be returning to.

Thank you for your interest in and comments about Rookie Babe. We have made steps in the right direction lately and can learn more from reading comments like yours.

The slide show can be stopped by clicking on the text link at the bottom of the image: "stop slideshow". Also, the ability to download just single images in the larger sizes is something I will add to the "to-do list".

To be blunt, at this time, we have limited WM resources and so things get done much slower then I would like but we have made great progress overall.

The aggressive updating that we are working on will get us back up to 120+ babes very soon and each babe will have 2-4 sets/videos on average. We have gone from only 40+ babes active with about 40 photo sets to 60+ Babes with 75+ photo sets in just over 1 month. We are also adding completely new Babes biweekly and most of their content is much more explicit with pink and toys.

The server speed and ability to navigate while downloading are points that I am addressing with my WM again. I will post further on that when I know what can be done and how soon.

Rookie Babe claims to have a 3-day trial for 5.95, but I tried both the ccbill and epoch billing options and they both came up with only 29.95 for a month.

And TBP still shows the price at 24.95.

Later ... OK, I did join for the trial price. Most of the women there are really good looking and the photography is good, too.

The photosets are small when they're under, say, 20 pics, but they're generally sequenced in a way that doesn't often have me asking for more.

What there does need to be more of is server speed. It hovers between 90-120kbps. Slow is the word.

Also wish they'd allow saving of individual pics at the largest size. That would ease up the server load for sure, instead of the user having to download entire zips of pics at 3-5000 pixels.

Right now, when you open up a single shot, it immediate goes into automated slide show mode and there doesn't seem to be any way of stopping it. That ought to be fixed, too.

Thanks to Khan and the TBP staff for getting the pricing snafu taken care of in what must be record time. Can you imagine how different things would be without TBP and PU?

The admin has posted a few replies on the Rookie Babe forum. The issue where you cannot navigate the site while downloading (or have parallel downloads) isn't due to heavy traffic - it's an ERROR IN THE SITE!!! Apparently, the issue has been forwarded to the web programmer. Talk about amateur hour.

Also, I got confirmation that the old content will indeed show up at the rate of one set per day as part of the highly touted "daily update" schedule. Those of us who waited around for the new site to launch were rewarded with the prospect of getting the same old stuff all over again. Yes, it's higher resolution, but it's old content!

In light of these new development, I can definitely offer this advice: stay away until Rookie Babe gets its act together. For one thing, Zip files don't save you time if you can't do anything else while they're downloading (one at a time). Plus, there are exactly 31 photo sets (as of 4.23.09). That's hardly worth the increased subscription price (now $29.99 instead of $24.99). What a shame!

Oh, and CCBill is not yet available to new subscribers. Existing subscriptions remain active under CCBill, but new subscribers have to use an alternative billing source.

Thanks for this heads up. I'd joined the site once three and a half years ago, back when their "XXL" size was a measly 900px!

Glad that someone has been paying attention. I'll be keeping an eye on things. I really did like some of the content, but didn't like the pic sizes and the "no zips."

The new site has launched

After missing three public deadlines for launching the new version of Rookie Babe, the site is finally public. It has received something of a facelift (although it looked decent to begin with). Sets are now available to download as zip files and the photo resolution is MUCH higher (between 3000 and 5000px). Finally! The video quality is much higher as well and available for download in a variety of formats including .mp4, .wmv, and whatever the iPod format is.

Now the bad news. This is probably due to the site just now being launched, but it's so slow. If you're downloading something, you cannot load another page. Simultaneous downloads are not an option right now. Hopefully that's just because the server is swamped.

The real bad news is the amount of content is drastically reduced. I suppose they will re-upload old content as they prepare it. However, after stringing along subscribers for over a month, you'd think they would at least build on what they already had rather than taking ten steps backwards.

I like Rookie Babe's content a lot, but this whole website transition has given me a pretty negative impression. I don't think they were completely honest with subscribers and posted unrealistic launch dates. Now that the new site is here, I'm happy, but where is the old stuff? If you're not a subscriber now, I say, wait for a while.

Stay tuned for a full review once the site starts functioning properly and allows me to navigate *while* downloading a file!

Another update on videos

RookieBabe advertises downloadable videos on their site. This applies to a small number of 'new' videos (those less than a year old), and is not applied retroactively to previous videos. The vast majority of the videos are not downloadable. The quality of the downloadable videos is not great and they're only available in .wmv format with no choice of resolution.

I joined the site over a year ago and when I re-joined this month, I was disappointed to find that the site hasn't really expanded much at all. The site is getting a major overhaul in the near future, but this new version release date has been pushed back a few times. I'll believe it when I see it.

Update on downloads

So I did the trial and found that only a few of the most recent models have downloadable videos ( 4 girls, 16 movies). Still worth the trial cost for the photos, however, no zip download options make it painfully slow to save photos.

The home page says you can now download wmv files of the videos. I am going to the trial to check it out and will update if it is not true.
