It's definitely a juggling act because for every member that prefers the higher quality/lower compression, there is another member that will hammer us on file sizes or other cause & effect issues related to every decision we have to make.

Good to hear. I hope you will also use a low enough compression that it doesn't strip all the fine detail out. This is a problem on many sites where they boast about big sizes, yet the actual detail is no better than smaller sizes due to too much filtering. I look forward to checking the site out in the future.

We don't want to give a concrete launch date for the new "super high res" (as we're planning on labeling it) size, but barring any major roadblocks, it should be online within 2-3 weeks. It's definitely a top priority for us right now. Some recent sampling we did came out great and all new photos are being processed in the new super high-res size, along with the 2 smaller resolutions we already offer.

Also, after the new super high res size begins being added for all new updates, we plan on going backward to offer past photosets in the new 3000x size as well. We may not be able to go all the way back, but we should be able to go far enough back to make fans of the high res photos very pleased.

Well it doesn't say what those concerns were. But the biggest concern for most of us is when exactly will Karup increase your images sizes to meet today's expectations (i.e. 3000x2000 or higher)?

So last night i made the dive into karups pc. I signed up for a membership.

Sorry guys but here's my first opinion thus far - buyer's remorse. :C

My two main disappointments are:

1) Pic sizes. Indeed the photos are 1500x1000 which are way too small. I have a 26 inch flat screen monitor.

2) Overall pic quality. Not good. If the quality was good, I can sacrifice the photo's size.

My disappointments are only based on viewing with a 26", so I may be a bit biased. That said, I think the pic sizes and quality are fine for someone using a standard laptop.

Monty, since I recommended this site on your request let me say this:

Karups PC is like so many major sites with a long background (since 1997):

Newer material is of course much better than what you find from early 2000, before and a little after.
But generally Karup's PC is still getting better and better regarding both vids and pix quality. Though I also get 1500x1000 checking my sets, they're absolutely fine for full screen viewing.

Like vids, like pix you can't only rely on actual size regarding viewing quality....at least in my experience...and this user is considering yet another rejoin.

Sets after around 2007 offer the 1500x1000 zips. I think it is the bare minimum for good resolutions. I use my tv as a monitor which I run at 1920x1080. Images in full screen at this resolution on a 40 inch tv look good. The older sets look decent between 2004-07. The sets 2003 and before are pretty poor.

If you like to zoom in you can zoom in a little with the 1500 sets and still look good.

Does anyone know if the pic sizes are larger now with good detail. I looked at the review on here and it says "1500X1000". That's pretty small for today. I have a pretty decent sized monitor.

I think wittyguy's estimate on the percenatge of exclusif content is the more accurate one and he's also correct that Karup as the scenes first and either they lease it to other sites or whoever they buy it from sales it to other sites. I know they tag some scenes as being exclusif and those you won't find anywhere else or at least not from officlka sources.

The reality is that many Eastern Europeans sites buy content from the same studio so it's not unusual to see the same scene on more than one site. The advantage of joining a site like teenmegaworld is that they seem to buy the most content from that studio as well as have their own exclusif content.

I would say that it's less than 90%, probably only about 60%. However, in my past experience they usually have the scenes first before the content starts to filter out to other websites as the months go by.

As an aside, the reviewers at TheBestPorn aren't collectors like us so they mainly rely on a websites description of "exclusive content" when they post their facts. Other PU reviewers may miss that as well. However, I don't usually have a beef when the majority of the content is exclusive like Karups.

For me, 50plus/60plus MILFS (SCORE) came the closest, Pat. Too bad they changed their business model so that contents could only be streamed after a certain time. It's a site I would have returned to over and over, but I would never subscribe to it long term because the updates would be too slow to make it worth my while.

Yep, the site, all in all, disappointed me as well, Pat, for the same reason: most of the models did not fit the "older" definition. I made a comment about liking many of the sets and videos for their lingerie contents, but find I haven't gone back to the ones I've saved on my hard drive since I downloaded them, so maybe it was just an attempt on my part to make myself feel better about a wrong move. :-)

Given that it was a site not geared to your preferences, I think you have been very fair in your review.
Yes, the Karup's sites are primarily photoset orientated.

From a personal point of view the thing that tends to downgrade my view of them is that they seem to insist in a lot of fake arousal & 'touchy, feely' at the expense of clear body shots.

Other than that I really like them.

Agreed. But if you think KPC and ATK are bad, check out Bang Bros or Reality Kings for redundant photos. I don't need to see the same pimple on her butt 18 times.

My rationale for joining (soon) will be that they have this model with an hispanic name who is hard to find who did stuff under Mya on ATK, and I would pay a month's fee just to get her set.

Just one more very quick remark: It was definitely a Biller issue in my case because my card was never declined. I used the same card to re-subscribe and everything went without a hitch. I thought the whole thing had been corrected but there you are a week or so later???

We are currently looking into this. Our billing system shows you were pre-authorized on the 24th, which gives you access. We then do a manual approval of all accounts before they actually get billed. Once we approved the account, the billing company seeks to get payment. It was when this happened on the 27th, that your card returned a declined message. That put your account as inactive as you were never successfully charged for the membership.

Did you cancel your account the day you signed up or the day after? Just trying to get all the information as we look into this.

And afterwards this one: "Good afternoon ....,

We are currently working with our biller to investigate this matter. In the mean time I have setup a temp week password for the site. I will let you know as soon as I get a definitive word back."

It seems like messmer was right on the money.

Jeff, i joined the site on February the 24TH and cancelled the next day. I charged my virtual credit card before joining your site, Jeff, for a little over the exchange of 29.90 USD in euros and i was given full access to your site. Then, the events followed as it is written in the above comments. I haven't been billed as of today according to my virtual credit card statements. Anyways, in a few days time, tops, the card statement should reflect the charges.

I apologize for your trouble. Can you please e-mail me your username or subscription ID so I can look into it for you? jeff {at} karupsDOTcom.

Like Messmer mentioned, it sounds like a billing company issue, in which case you wouldn't be billed. Our processing company recently switched back end platforms and as a result, they've had a couple of glitches here & there. When a glitch happens though, 100% of the time it ends up costing us money and never our members. The most likely scenario is that even though your card and membership were approved, they had trouble collecting the funds from your issuing bank. When that happens, they terminate the membership and the access a member has had up until that point becomes free (i.e. you will not be charged for your time in the site).

If by chance it's something else and you did end up getting billed, we will make sure you are reimbursed everyday you missed or lost, plus some extra for your trouble. I assure you that we are not in the business of trying to get over on our members. If that was how we did business, we would have been run out of the industry many years ago rather than going on our 14th year now.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you & will get this resolved immediately after I do.

Nostromo, the same thing happened to me with KarupsOW. There was a glitch with their billing and a small number of users who subscribed and then canceled within a certain period of time experienced being cut off prematurely. I got in touch with support and was given the few days I had been with them for free, plus they added an extra week when I re-subscribed. Check my comment and responses under KarupsOW to get a better indication what I'm talking about.

I have to admit i've never joined any of the karups sites mainly because i feel uneasy about the unfamiliar billing processor and the experience you describe here does nothing to fill me with confidence about joinging their sites. membership and cancel a few days later, then, exactly two days later, you are not allowed anymore in the site. I signed on February the 24TH and cancelled the 25th, well, soon enough, on February the 27th i can't access the site.

This is what they write to you when you join the site: "Your transaction has been processed by EENT, Inc. through RSBilling. You can cancel at any time and your membership will continue for the remainder of your subscription. After the initial period (30 days) you will be billed 29.90 every 30 days."

It seems that they do not fulfill their promises.

And be sure that i have typed endless times my username, password and the verification code.

On february the 27th i received this e-mail: "Dear KarupsHA Member,

You are receiving this e-mail because your membership is expiring today. We thank you for being a member and hope to see you again sometime in the future. We have recently created Facebook and Twitter pages for our fans & members, where you can get sneak peeks of new models that continue to be added regularly."

So i was member for a total of four days, some deal i made.

Indeed, Brent had mentioned to me over the weekend as well that the webmaster who sent the mailer had replied saying that the issue was fixed. The original webmaster that sent it actually couldn't find where the problem went wrong, but after checking it thoroughly, he felt confident to let Brent know that any issue is now resolved.

"As for the extra .com - I was told it was a typo put into the template on our backend. It got fixed on Saturday, but after you got the second email with it in it."

I guess you were not able to duplicate the error because it has now been fixed.

Thank you for the kind words. :) I agree with you 100% about Brent. He is without question among the best customer service/webmasters we've had.

In regards to the bounced e-mails, we looked into it and sent a couple of test mails with the same settings, but were not able to duplicate the error. The "from" field came through as "support@karupsow.com". Do you recall if the e-mail address that it came from was "support@karupsow.com.com" or if the extra ".com" only showed up when you clicked reply in your mail client?

Someone on your side had put an extra com into "reply" and emails ended up being addressed to "support@karupsow.com.com" as I found out a day later when my emails were returned as undeliverable. Until I was aware of the reason it had me steaming about your lack of response, therefore my initial reaction.

But, as you said, the issue has been resolved amicably, all is well, and I do want to compliment you on a fine site (I've re-joined) and also want to praise Brent for his prompt replies and helpful ways. Keep him and give him a raise, he's worth it when it comes to public relations! :-)

A sincere thanks as well to KarupsOW for giving all the users affected by this glitch the generous extra time. That was a class act!

I know the issue has already been resolved and that you spoke with Brent about it, but I just wanted to drop you a quick line on here to apologize once again. It was a lousy situation that was out of our hands, unfortunately. We did what we could to make it up to the affected members once it was resolved, but that of course doesn't make it right.

Anyway, all of us appreciate you being cool about it, especially since it was a very stressful time.

In your case it is difficult to know if the problem is the Webmanager or the billing company.

I'm afraid I'm not a very patient person, Capn, because after firing off a third email I just downgraded my review. A plea for help should be answered immediately even if it is in the form of a ticket advising one that steps will be taken to correct whatever is wrong. The deafening silence on their part really grates on my nerves. It's like shouting into a void.
