I just joined this site and I have to say the navigation and design are bothering me. I don't like to waste any time when I'm trying to get pr0n.
Yeah we get it, you're going for the whole magazine thing.
At the very least they could make the thumbnails of the models bigger. I don't want to miss anything.
Over the last 6 months there have only been 3 extreme updates on the site, and of those a couple of them aren't even that extreme. For fans of that aspect of the site, including me, it's a real downer lately.
I know that FTV has HD quality downloads for the videos. However, when I was a member in the past, all of the videos were broken up into 3-5 clips. Are the HD videos still downloaded in that way? Or has FTV started using full-length video downloads?
If the videos are still in parts, do they provide a zip file? Or do you have to download each one separately?
FTV Girls was one of the first porn sites that I ever joined. Since then, it has grown tremendously. However, the site has not kept up with the growth. Everything is a little too disorganized and lists are everywhere (updates list, models list, etc). The site really needs a good search engine so that it is easier to find the specific niche that one is looking for. For example, some categories could include fisting, exhibitionism, squirting, or big toys since each is a featured type of scene. However, there isn't any real way to find out what is in each scene without clicking through. A good search engine would go a long way to bringing me back to FTV Girls.
A word of caution if you want to buy their DVDs. I used to order from them every now and then and delivery was really slow, but reliable. On average it took 3-4 weeks before delivery. Late last year I placed an order from them after they outsourced the DVD business to DVDHotties. I got a shipment confirmation within a few days but it took nearly 4 weeks for the discs to be delivered and one of them had the wrong content burned onto it. After a few emaila & calls, a promise to get me the right DVD and 2 months of waiting, I gave up. Stick with the online content, it's top notch (except having to hear "3, 2, 1" over and over again).
FTVGirls has started releasing videos in HD (1440x1080) at a 8256kbs bit rate in the WMV format. AFAIK, this is the highest resolution available for porn on the net. And, the resultant image is almost like being there... :)
Mind you, this does come at a cost. For instance, the third video release totals a little over 79 minutes in length but is 4,563 MB in size.
I understand the site owner's decision not to go with a full HD resolution (1920x1080). Wide screen monitors (24" or larger) aren't ubiquitous. I'd be interested to learn of the viewing experience of users with 22" monitors (1680x1050) or CRT monitors at 1600x1200.
Should this new format prove, for some reason, to be problematic, users can still get DIVX videos at 352x256 with a bit rate of 64kbs and WMV videos at 720x480 (widescreen) with a bit rate of 3155kbs. It should be noted that the lower rate of WMV videos is an increase over that of previously offered WMV videos at 640x480 with a bit rate of 2079kbs.
Also of interest, the daily download limit has been raised to 15GB.
So, it seems that, once again, FTVGirls has leap-frogged the competition and succeeded in demonstrating it's commitment to providing customers an experience of superior quality.
This is probably my 10th time as a member on FTV over the last several years. I've always enjoyed getting the exclusive content that they have. They may have just topped themselves. A new update coming tomorrow 12-5 listed as Lenka, is aka as the gorgeous Eufrat on most Euro sites. Check out the video specs 1440x1080 at 8,000 kbps bitrate. That is Blue Ray DVD quality. I'm only worried about whether my computer will be powerful enough to play this movie. FTV still is one of my all-time favorites. The sets that sold me on the site were the old Ava sets, aka Eva Angelina. If you haven't joined FTV, the time is here to give it a try.
After reading all the reviews and the comments, and after checking out the previews, and after reading the replies to my concerns about the apparent paucity of updates, I finally signed up last month.
Wow! This site is far better than I expected (I've had plenty of lousy experiences, as I'm sure many others have had). After spending a few weeks on the site I'm literally overwhelmed.
It's way too soon for me to write a full review on FTV but so far I can't see any way I'll give it less than a 90. At $1.00 per day to start (and a 5 month deal at 67 cents per day) I suspect I'll be signing up for the long-term plan just to get through some of the material in which I know I have an interest.
So far the big pluses are the quality of the videos (even the old scenes that are on DivX only) and the length of each set of scenes. They are going HD later this year so it's only getting better.
The minuses, for me, are the fact that they do not permit a download of an entire "episode" but require multiple downloads (a minor annoyance) and rather small and modest quality photos of most of the babes (again a minor annoyance because I'm in it for the video).
Download speeds are slow, but not terrible.
As should be known by all who spend anytime doing front end research, there's no hard-core sex, but the goings on should provide any guy with a heartbeat a lot of woodies...per episode.
So far all I can say is that this is an amazing site!
