The frustration you report really is a hassle. And I agree: when it comes to resubscribing month to month, this alone is reason not to.
To answer your question, I believe Brain Pass is tied into the SilverStone collection of sites. That being the case, I know for a fact from tech support that download accelerators are disabled. Perhaps that is one of the reasons why your downloading is slow.
Again, I strongly suggest that speed of downloads and the ability to use download accelerators should be factored in to the final votes when a site is rated and then this information should be included in the review.
