Raffle Update... New payment option!

Reply to Announcement 		This is an important $200 Tuesdays update.

E-GOLD has recently become unusable for us and many users since the most recent changes resulting from the recent requirements to comply with U.S. law and regulations as a Money Services Business. As a result, we're not able to send money and many users are not able to accept money.

Therefore, as of today, we will no longer be using E-GOLD as a raffle payment method. A separate e-mail was sent to all users who are currently have E-GOLD selected.

The GOOD NEWS is that we've added GiftCertificates.com as an official payment method as of TODAY! Winners will receive a Super Certificate, which allows them to exchange the credits for an actual e-gift card or physical gift card from any of the 200+ merchants available. Some of these merchants should be internationally friendly as well. Be sure to check the list of merchants prior to selecting this option.

If you're already signed up to our raffle, you can change your payment method anytime at your edit profile page.

Due to the issues we've had with virtual cash operators (E-GOLD and Moneybookers), we will most likely limit our raffle prizes to gift certificates from here on out. Amazon and eBay have been very successful and continue to be the most popular choices.

I just got finished switching over to GiftCertificates.com because I think I would either run into legal difficulties or into excessive shipping costs if I used Amazon.com as a resident of Canada. I had great hopes when I came across their "software" section, that would have solved my problems because all I had to do was to use my raffle winnings to download a program ... no customs, no tax department, no shipping costs .. perfect! But, regrettably, all that section contains so far is an American Tax Program. :-)

GiftCertificates.com should be a great option. The only downside is when you go to cash in a "Super Certificate", some merchants advertise a 2 wk delivery time even for e-cards. Seemed strange to me. Some were immediate delivery though and the one certificate I did choose came within a few hours.

Seems like a solid choice for Canadian users!

Hi slategrey, this must have been a long time ago. I think I had a brief look at giftcertificates.com and couldn't find anything among their clients that appealed to me. Shortly after that the TBP folks made it possible for me to redeem my raffle winnings at amazon.ca. In your case I would suggest putting down amazon.com. I am sure they would have everything you might want or need once you win!

Amazon.ca has always worked like a charm for me. Good luck with the raffle, your turn will come. :-) I managed to win a few raffles and it was nice to be able to use the money to buy books and external hard drives! It's been a while though since that incredible streak of luck!
