Seeing as my niche changes every so often, I can't really say.
Sometimes I totally focus on that current niche, it depends on the niche.
Usually I go for networks that offer a broad variety of websites that all focus on different niches.

Probably general niche, broad coverage. This way the content is what I want, and there is usually a good amount of it available.
Having the content very specific would probably mean there is less content, and as long as it generally fits into the niche, then I'm happy.
