I wouldn't say that in Europe members have slow download connections, for example when I download a video file from bustyandreal.com (a random site example) I always have speed at about 100 - 120 KB/sec at every time of the day (I own a 1024 Kbps/Sec adsl connection). The distance from the main server plays its role but I think that prolly the server or servers that you try to download might be busy because other users might download files at the same time as you do. I am not a member of VideoBox so I can not tell about their download speeds, but from what I have heard from friends that are members and from what I have read in here there shouldn't be a problem about that.

I always seem to have good luck with download speeds (to Videobox) from here, although I only visit once or twice per week.
I'm on a 10Mb cable internet, and am getting 1.25MB/Sec which is max for my connection.
