Ace DDF's News
from PeterSeven:
Renewing to DDF sites, never for me again. I've been a recurring member for a few years now but since the interface upgrade everything went downhill. The last week or so downloading videos just doesn't WORK speed drops after a few seconds and then come to complete stop (downloading a view kB/sec, timeouts, video-downloads don't start ...) downloading zips however works. Reported it to the support staff but NOTHING only getting answers like we are sorry ....
Anyway took a membership to the 21sextury network and thats a network i would recommend downloads are lighting fast.
At this time the DDF sites are NOT Worth the money.

How would the re-billing work with this based on a 3 month sign-up?

Sounds great. But the sites say "one time." Does that mean if I sign up now I will have to sign up again in Sept at the regular rate per site?

I still think it is a very poorly thought out service provided by CCBill compromised by being so open to abuse & apparently unpoliced.

1 by day is still much slower than other sites on the DDF network and still only allows 1 file at a time downloads, which doesn't happen either on the other sites.

Great news that you're trying to fix it. That really would be a great example of web admins listening to their userbase - very impressed.
Don't suppose there's anyway of having the rolback server back until you'vegot a fix is there?!?!?

Thanks for the response Endre,
The use of the download manager isn't really the problem. The issue is with being able to schedule downloads. FDM still works fine to multithread download and resume from 1byday.
I (like many I suspect) are limited by our ISP's to certain download limits. My ISP lifts those limits between midnight and 8am. If I was always awake at these times there'd be no problem. I've used managers to schedule downloads to get around this issue.
The use of session timeouts and more importantly the web form requiring a physical presence at a PC breaks the scheduled downloads.
I've spent the day looking at various download managers and can find none that auto login to your site unless you have already used a browser to pass the web login form.
Please - if you've got any advice on how to get GetRight, DTA or any other manager working with sessions and web forms I (and I'm sure many others here) would love to hear. Until then I still believe form based login sites are to be avoided.

There was only one zip set that got blocked, and it probably is an issue on my end with the software. Because it was only one set, I just opted to grab pic a la carte rather than try to divine the root of the problem with my software. Probably would have taken about as long!

Is there any consideration of doing this on a permanent basis?
I believe it would be something to look into. I purchased the network pass, but I likely would not be a customer if I did not hear about this deal.
When a site offers me more for my money it tends to put a squeeze on your competition's likelihood of getting my money this month. This month you grabbed the competition by the balls and squeezed with both hands in my opinion.

Great suggestion, Endre - since I took advantage of the DDF special, I wanted to make sure that I got full value for it - so downloaded the download manager that you recommended and it's doing a great job on my system. I had tried another download manager that another site had recommended and it was a pain in the ass much of the time for a non-techy like me. This one's simple and effective.

I have no issue with additional offers (and I frequently sign up for offers) but don't do things like presellect the offer. Or use negative confirmations. Those are usually reserved for fly by night and poor quality porn sites.
You have a very good site with very good content and frequent updates. Why go the way of the poor and cheap sites to try and trap people? Nothing wrong with extra offers, just don't pre click them and make someone read the all the print before cancel. CC-Bill does that part right. (But I think their fees are very high)

Good to see so active webmaster participation! HouseOfTaboo is my favorite among the DDF sites, partly because it's quite unique and also active.

Cool Ace, I'll look out for the promotions
Yeah I know it must be a tough time for some adult websites and seeing longlasting sites like DDF riding the storm and coming out at the other side is very encouraging and good to see.

Yeah really good to see webmasters on the site and that customer service is important to you. Glad you are looking to the future too with a new site design, good luck with that and Denner has got me rather interested in maybe a Christmas join at DDF, its been a while for me too since I was last a member.

Hello Ace
Got an answer this morning (European time) from Support - the same as tangub mentions, by the way. - and wrote back to go ahead with a cancel of rebill.
The things that puzzled me was no mail answer after joining - I always chose different login/password, so it good to have that on mail answer, which you normally get.
When going to the cancel site, your're ask to chose billing co. - when joining, I could no see which billing co. - and with 7 (seven) I mean at the cancel site you get those 7 different billing companies to chose from...
A bit awkward.
BTW: Any plans of further reediting older 2002-2005 video files (and of course join them)??
Another BTW: I enjoy being back again at this good ol' site - which was one the first paysites I joined many years ago.
Thanks
Denner

I've got Norton anti-virus through Comcast. Computer repair people that I've talked to in my area give that anti-virus high marks and consider their warnings to be accurate. I don't know why you have pop-up pages at all for customers that just want to see more of your list of models, but I believe those pages to all be badly infected and I won't be exposing myself to them if I can help it, that's for sure.

Hi Endre,
Love your sites (well... judging from the previews).
But indeed, same as with Jeffrey... VXSBill does not seem to clear my credit card either. And no! as customers... joining a website of choice should be fun, not hassle. We should not do anything additional.
If the payment processor gives hassle, we simply will join another site/network, simply as that!

Hello Endre,
I understand that it can be a problem to keep the currency rates up to date and I understand some may find more comfortable to pay with their own currency. And yes, your site is not 1:1 EUR vs USD; that's better than nothing. What I don't understand though, is why my country (and so is yours, I suppose) being placed in the EUR zone when we don't use EUR here. USD and EUR are both foreign currencies for us so there's no advantage using EUR at all, especially when paying by a CC. Thanks a lot for your reply though.

Sorry I took so long to respond, but I think the issue is the upload process you folks use. The WMV issue seems to exist only on the day an update is posted and not a day or two later.

I wonder why the price is that different for European and American customers. There cannot be additional shipping costs or something IMHO. :-(
