Yep Cap'n, same applies here, which probably makes us sort of weird. Being weird is something I came to accept, and eventually be proud of. Better that, than be mainstream sheep, being told what to watch, what to think, and what to consume.
As a final PS before the review gets buried, I think I had better add that if you go to the model directory or photos on 18 Eighteen, you will find a wealth of archive softcore photos. Finding hardcore is very rare, but the softcore picture archives go back ten years. I should have put that in the review, but being more a hardcore fan I virtually ignored it, and the navigation is not user friendly, so I gave up searching. There is also some hardcore in there which is not listed under hardcore.

Silly bugger - me that is. When I referred to the $10 discounted price through Porn Users, I of course meant TBP. I'm sure anyone who reads it will know what I mean. Just in case they don't - you have to go to The Best Porn and click on 18 Eighteen and follow the link to get the discounted sign up price.
Ik - yep I finally found a place that got me back on the straight and narrow, and downloading legit porn again.

Their points system is probably the coolest thing that any site I can think of does for their long-term members. You earn points, then after you're no longer a member, you can log into the site with your same login info and use your points to get sets that you want.
That's just awesome!

You can also buy those points for a reasonable price (basically a VOD system). A scene usually goes for 295 points and you can buy 1000 points for 10€ (whatever that is in $), so basically it's 3 videos for a tenner. Considering the fact, that the quality of the updates have been suffering lately and I rarely find new scenes worth of downloadinng, I thnk that's a fair trade.
On the other hand, there is a new wave of "personalized spam" going on at the moment, which seem to be connected to the 21 network (see my thread in the forum).

One good thing about the pix standards on this site is that they don't just post every single shot as many other sites do. In a single session, I see 200 as the absolute maximum number of photos. More than that necessarily means a lot of duplication and thus user time in viewing and extracting excess stuff.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah the site is good, of course, it's not my primary thing to view but I really wanted some content of Sandy. I never had anything of her, so I considered everything else as a bonus. A good bonus though! I can see how the masses love this network, it surely is quality for the Euro models.
A site must be something if it gets renewed subscriptions though because when I do that it's a dime a dozen these days. I would surely rejoin on a later date. Many might think my score was a bit low but maybe I am jaded when it comes to this type of content. But, I'm glad I joined and I got some great stuff. It seems you did too :) Take care and ttyl.

I'm not a fan of the gynecological shots either. One of the things I should have mentioned in my earlier reply, I also reviewed both Pix and Video and Club Sandy in the low 90s in 2007 on here. So they've consistently been high scorers for me. Those two sites in particular were standalone sites in 2007, but I used to join with the two combined for $45 a month because those two have a nice blend of glam/softcore/midcore/hardcore. I really think those three teen sites they have add a lot. I'm usually not into the teenish models, since I like the mid-20s to mid-30s, more elegant looking models, but the three teen sites, Cuties Galore, Anal Teen Angels and Lez Cuties are very similar to say Nubiles. I will post on Cap'n's thread in the forum about networks with a few other strengths this network has.

That's the good thing with this network. Pix and Video, Club Sandy and Footsie Babes are more softcore than hardcore. I think one way to see how highly I've thought of these sites is to look at the old individual reviews I did of them. Pix and Video a 92 in July 2009 and Club Sandy a 94 in July 2010. Those are just 2 of the 37 sites. Even looking at the PU average scores on the sites by themselves gives a good view.

The Pix and Video PU score suffers from being reviewed during the time period when they were having their server issues. I was even surprised by the TBP review since TBP only scores the network an 89, but also scores Pix and Video, by itself, an 88.5. That's why I think a network like this one is hard to review since it's hard to determine how to balance all these sites and scores out. To me, having 10 sites that I would rate 85 or up all included in one package is the most I could ask for.
Oh and yeah, I've been a member many times in the past, just not through the network. Some of my first reviews here on PU were of Club Sandy and Pix and Video, which were $30 a month each back then. With so many updates though, they keep me coming back.

As much as I regret what I have to spend on these sites, it does give me access to some older titles that I want to see. The "channel" idea really cuts down on the cost, and with 8000 titles on the channel I subscribed to it will probably be a good value.

Very well done review, Squirrel. It gives an accurate picture of the site, and customer service / communication is so good that I almost hate to make adverse comments about this site.
I am glad you mentioned the recent lack of niche (fetish) updates and I'm not talking Latex. :-) This is something that has really bothered me (as a long term subscriber) since this was the main difference between American Vice and all those others not so long ago.
I think that economic circumstances are starting to make their effects felt and AV are starting to play it safe by offering updates that would appeal to most porn lovers rather than just a few. Which would be understandable. Trouble is, with only one update a day, I suspect that the average Joe would rather pick a place like Video Box with five updates daily, even though everything about American Vice spells quality.

Talent is totally subjective but I would disagree on the video quality. VideoBox is better.
Oh, and it's $17.95 for one month if you buy just one month -- which is a great price but it's not $8.33.

Agree with you, squirrel, but in my fantasy world I could check-out videos with a little ass slapping without digging through other fetish content I don't care for (to each his own, but digging through latex, foot fetish, pissing, etc., isn't my cup of tea, LOL).

Download speeds are a complicated issue. You could be 3000 miles apart and get a better download rate than 2 servers 500 miles apart. It depends on the networking and switching in between.
We actually built our own proprietary download system that does a bunch of cool threading.
Regarding the recognition...we obviously love it. Our following is small but devoted. But porn enthusiasts seem to really dig and appreciate what we do, even if it goes right over the heads of most review sites. The praise of guys like you, Clyde, Messmer and Toad really means so much.
I will tell you this much. The review sites think you guys are stupid and will watch/download whatever is mindlessly put in front of you. They see zero value in our commentary. I refuse to accept this and promise to keep up our high standards, as well as topnotch customer service.
