Marcus's Review
from JamesDavid:
Thank you for the review Marcus!
To address a couple points you mentioned, we are going to stop offering wmv in the future, based off a survey we did of members and also looking at the data in our sites regarding what people download most. WMV is barely used it seems as it once was, mp4 is more compatible with all OS's. We're not removing older wmv fils, just not creating new ones. In addition this also means faster file creation, more room on server for more files etc.
We're in the process of adding a new site that is a large scale multi model site that will debut in the spring of this year. It will feature everything form girl next door types to hardcore photos and videos.
As for Bryci's hardcore that she and I are filming.. we're new to it so we wanted our first few videos to be somewhat voyeuristic. We did this because we were still adapting to going in this direction and let's face it.. not every day one does this. We are not a major porn studio, nor do we want to be perceived as one. We are two people running it all, well.. I run all of Bella and Bryci helps with her site of course. So when we decided to go into HC, we felt it was best to be us, not try and follow other people's examples. We bring the camera and put it down and then go have fun, filming it. We have no interest in having others film us, or having multiple cameras filming, it's just us two having fun.
That said - we will be getting a lot more daring moving forward. We plan on doing pov style, as well as other styles. We're inviting our members into our sex life basically.. so far, so good. :)
Thanks again for the review!

I find that her other site is even more of a scam because you can't download anything. I don't agree with sites that offer streaming only of their videos but I at least understand why they do this but I really don't understand why you would prevent paying members the ability to download the photosets. She appears to still be doing cam shows but I'm not sure if they are only for ehr site or if she freelances on other sites. She is quite active on Twitter.

The only reason I called it a scam is because there is so little HC on this site that almost everyone joining will feel cheated since this is suppose to be her HC site. This is compounded by the fact that she has a few other softcore sites so unless someone sees your review prior to joining then they will rightly assume that Ann is doing only HC stuff on this site.
That's not to say that a few months or a year from now that the site won't be full of HC porn but that won't help all the people who like you joined expecting some HC porn from a favorite girl.

Thanks for the review.
If I read your review correctly then her site is pretty much a scam since she hasn't actually done any hardcore sex yet. She may have done some midcore stuff but that is not the same thing at all.

Don't get me wrong Marcus, I certainly don't doubt the problems you had last time and it seems the webmaster was very quick to dismiss them at that time and accuse you of wrong doing even by his own admission now it seems. I really hope you have a better experience this time around. Personally I think all the models in this network look great and I love solo model sites and I'm only sorry that I can't support them with my hard earned money due to the fact I don't have time to sit in front of my computer saving photos one at a time.

No problem Marcus. I've been to quite a few sites over the years that had problems similar to the ones you were having. It's at least good that you were willing to give it another try. Seems like a lot of porn users these days have a bad experience and blacklist the site for good.

If the size wasn't over 9 gigs, then there was another issue at hand. It's not just a DL limit that can suspend a user. Before you say, no there wasn't another issue.. there clearly was or it wouldn't have removed it.
Getting to the bottom of what the issue was on the other hand should have been handled quickly and efficiently by Steve and I'm sorry that didn't take place.
If you still have your username from Bella - drop me an email with it please so I can look into this. I am not sure how far I can go back but perhaps I can shed light. Email me at james at bellanetwork dot com. Thanks Marcus.

I'm sorry you were so frustrated Marcus. If I replied asking you why you're emailing me because I am not tech support - I'm sorry for that blunt email. Must have caught me at an add moment of having too much on my plate but you deserved better service. I am sorry for that. I did have staff that were being paid to fix issues, but as I said, after going through things closer I can see areas they were failing repeatedly and that is unacceptable so they're no longer employed by Bella Network. I'm going to now reply to your other response.

You just admitted I did not call you a liar, and as I said, I didn't.
10 or so videos does not get you banned as I said, UNLESS the size of those videos pass 9 gig in a 24 hour period. I've already said this though.
Please do not assume things I say were directed towards you. If I have something to say to you, I will say it to you directly. That is how things get solved. :)
"Why is it when someone breaks the terms of service and the server removes them for abuse, they can never man up and admit they were in the wrong?"
I said this because it is TRUE. It is *incredibly* rare that anyone admits wrongdoing, but the server has data and shows what happened. It's math, it's not a personal vendetta to get Marcus or anyone else.
As I said, I had someone working for me, three someones to be specific but one in particular was heading my security dept as I am very busy shooting, creating, running things. It become clear to me from a few emails directed to me at james at bellanetwork dot com that this person (Steve) was not doing his job properly. I looked into things personally and fix a few issues. I spoke with him about things and I believed things were taken care of at the time.
Upon later review, it became clear that we weren't cut out to work together, so I let him go and I am personally overseeing all issues now. That does not in any way though mean every person that emails me gets back in the site.
I appreciate nobody likes to get locked out of a site and yes, mistakes can happen. Perhaps the ISP changes ips radically or the customer gets caught in an ip block that had nothing to do with them. Mistakes do happen, yes. Just as mistakes happen though, there are also some people that sign up with malicious intent. They plan on site ripping and posting our content etc. So when they get caught and they don't get a refund, they get angry. they post shitty messages. It happens. I've been in this game for 15 years, I have seen it with several networks including my own.
Now, this all said, I changed something in our security this morning after reading the responses here. First, I'd have responded earlier but again, i am busy and I didn't know this was being said or I'd have responded immediately as is what I strive for. Anyone that knows me will tell you I work a great deal for our members so they're happy.
I raised the DL limit to 12 gig per 24 hour period. If someone is suspended, they are locked out for 24 hours. This limit is higher than a lot of well known sites out there but I am hoping it shows that yes, I am listening and trying to make people happy.

Read the thread Marcus, I am not saying that at all.
If your ip changes, that happens and is not a big issue. Most systems don't lock out people on ip related issues until they reach 5 different ip addresses. Even then, upon logging in we can see if it's all you or someone else etc.
It is is easily unlocked and fixed, time added if warranted etc.
You NEVER EMAILED ME so saying I ignored your emails is false. CCbill emails if a customer contacts them, and just as when a customer emails us, we answer the email. If a customer was locked out for breaking a ToS, how is that our fault again?
Why do you keep saying our system is infallible? I never said this. Frankly your tone is one of assumption. Read the thread, many replying in this thread didn't even have a membership, they are merely replying to others.
Our system is automated for the most part security wise. If someone breaks rules, they get suspended. Last time I checked, very few people write in and say hey - I broke this rule, I'm sorry. Most claim they are innocent and when we reply with screen grabs and proof, odd ting happens - they disappear. They don't refute the data, they simply stop replying. Strange, I know.
Our system isn't perfect by any means - but it does work. I can promise you if you go to some of the largest sites out there and mass download, you'll reach a point they lock you out. This protects their server. Now should I write them and claim I downloaded nothing and I'm innocent? What do you think their response would be?
If I post that I didn't download anything in PU, does this make it true all of a sudden? -- pointing out that just because someone claims one thing, this does not make it the truth.
Mistake happen, yes. Data is kind of hard to fake though. Hard proof is exactly that, hard proof.
Those that write in and admit wrong doing, we assume it was a simple error and we reconnect them. We're not mighty rulers, lol, this is the internet. We get that people get excited and pass limits, it happens, we all move past it. It's the people that claim they're innocent and they didn't download a gig when the data shows them grabbing 23 gigs over 4 different addresses etc that we shake our heads at.
In the end Marcus, I am sorry you had issues with our site. If you and I had spoken, I suspect we'd know what happened immediately. The person I had working for me in the cs dept I have come to find was not very good at handling things, as such he has been removed.

I should check this thread more often, I'd have replied sooner.
Putting words in someone's mouth is never a good thing. I did not call you a liar. If you downloaded ten videos, that doesn't get your account suspended, unless the total size of those videos passes 9 gig in a 24 hour window. This is written in the terms of service before you sign up for the site, they are listed.
As for your comment that I wouldn't entertain a notion etc.
That is false. I can see your account immediately upon researching it and yes, your ips are listed. If you have multiple ip addresses from different locations, the system can at times flag your account for follow up so we can see what's up. Most people with dsl have ip accounts that change, they don't get suspended.
When someone has a connection issue, we look at their ips first. Then we check if they are actually suspended or if someone else was suspended near them and it grabbed them too (like the twisty's issue mentioned on this page, that happens as well). Then we look at their page loads versus hit count to see if the software that stops people for site ripping suspended them. In short, we look at all factors.
It is never about what the customer says happened, it is about what the data tells us happened. I hate to say it but some people don't always tell the truth. They do something bad, then claim innocence. I am not saying you did this, or others in this thread did this. Problem is, all you're seeing here are the people with issues. You're not seeing the 99% that have no issues. They're not posting because they don't have issues. Six testimonials here.
As for customer service stand point, all I can do there is apologize. We did have some staff working with us that has since been let go. In late December I removed Steve, the person that was handling the security side. It is 100% just me doing things. As such, I go through every single user's site issues and solve them as they come up. In the instances where someone has been suspended when they shouldn't have been, time is added to their memberships. I am sorry you felt you were treated poorly, I appreciate that you signed up and I am sorry you had issues with the service.

Well, this business makes it easy to do this. First of all, due to the sensitive nature of the material, a lot of consumers don't want anyone knowing their business. They are therefore less inclined to run to the bank to complain when they get ripped off. I believe some vendors will capitalize on this. I think that is the risk a consumer has to accept if they want to subscribe to online vendors in this arena. Eventually, you are likely to run across stuff that is not on the level.
I am going to say something here that might rub some people the wrong way. There is a pink elephant in the room that a lot of people know is there but few will admit its existence, especially the manfuactuers and producers. The Pink Elephant is this--Porn is going to involve a number of individuals who are not the most noble of characters when it comes to their approach to commerce. Some players will be tempted to stretch the limits and see how much they can get away with.
I certainly am not saying that everyone in the business is like this. But the anonymity I mentioned, the sensitive nature of things, etc is going to be a magnet for shady practices by some players. Most people in the industry I suspect will just look the other way, not wanting to rock the boat or police others.

Well, I noticed that when the upsells started last year, they began with just advertising them on the main page when you log in. The upsells then started showing up as scenes within specific site pages. If you click the scene and view it, you now have a monthly subscription to whatever site it belongs to. I was careful not to do this, but the way they it is structured, I can see a lot of people out there wondering what those extra monthly charges are on their credit card.
The thing that is scary is that there is no warning that you are about to subscribe. I intetionally signed up for the culuneros site because I wanted to add it. But when I clicked the scene link, there was no warning, no info about what was just charged, etc..It just went on as business as usual, but I could now access the site.
The monthly charge for the site was the same as the bangbros main site. So if people are not carefull or have twtichy fingers on the mouse, they are going to get popped and without warning that you just signed up for a monthly subscription.
The site planners probably said, 'Hey, not enough people are falling for the red pre-checked cross sell when they signed up. Let's mix the cross-sells in with the galleries and menus.'
Regarding actual content, I think what they are doing is just breaking off a lot of content that would normally appear at bangbros and creating new sites that you have to sign up for. For example, at culluneros, a lot of the models appear at bangbros but it looks like they saved a few scenes for this specific site. So if you are into that model, you would want to view the scene. There is nothing wrong with this strategy itself. It's the way they go about it that is dirty pool.

thank you for the review sweety. I have to disagree with the original content comment. Tons of exclusive content in my site. Yes i did use evil angel stuff because one of the directors allowed me to :) However its hardly a bulk of my content. A lot of the content scenes etc were not shot by me so unfortunately that accounted for the screen caps etc. I appreciate the input though ! :)
