Thanks for your review.
I was a member two or three years ago when the site was encumbered by DRM but it had some great exclusive stuff. But I lost interest when other sites with no DRM had great content at a lower price so I canceled.
I just thought I'd check the site again and it was totally changed.

You're completely in the mainstream in disliking streaming-only sites. They're not a good value.

A number of the major porn studios have streaming-only sites
Vivid.com does - though you can join the Premium Vivid Channel at Videobox if you want to download whatever they choose to offer there
DigitalPlayground.com does
Hustler.com is a mix - some vids are downloadable, some are streaming only, some vids that are downloadable are available in high res, some only available to download in lower res than the stream

One possible issue I can think of off hand is if the site frequently rotates URLs. Some site will deny the downloads from continuing if the URL changes mid download. This could be something that was happening. Did the site require frequent log ins? If so, after logging back in could you start a download that was queued up during the previous session?

"I wish they didn't have Transsexual content." This is not really a con because it is only personal taste. Many people like transsexual content. Normally I would not say anything but in this case it needs to be stated that you can simply ignore that content all together. Granted you will still see it on the page, but it is pretty easy to tell which videos will be transsexual and should be avoided by you.
Another thing, I truly hate to say it, but TBP/PU is not the best deal if you want long term. The best deal comes by clearing your cookies and joining. PU offers $100 for 10 months I believe, where as VideoBox has an offer for $120 to get you 18 months. This may have changed since I last joined about 2 months ago. This is something worth passing along Khan if not already, I did not look. I would rather you guys get some credit for my joining.
Download have always been fast here, but navigation has been a bit funky for me lately. It keeps sending me to the Vivid Premium page and forces me to go all the way back through to where I left off, very annoying. Since I never signed up for those "channels" it makes no sense.
Lastly, all those facts can be found nearly anywhere. I, we, would love to see some opinions and experiences thrown into this review. VideoBox is a heavily reviewed site so the facts are not in any real dispute. The popular sites such as this are much better served, along with fellow PU'ers, if things other than site facts are discussed. In other words, make this review much more personal.

Best Porn discount gets you membership at $14.95/month, if I remember correctly - not a bad deal considering their live shows, which are quite fun - I found that they work best with firefox as the browser, for whatever reason.
