That's most of what I've been doing for the last two months - knocking down the bit rates (which drops the file size, of course) so I can run my favorite video on a laptop that can't quite keep up with hi-def. But I still can't picture ever burning files to DVD again. They take forever to burn, don't last nearly as long as people think AND the seek time on the slowest hard drive still beats a DVD any day! I learned that lesson a long time ago. As a good and proper hoarder, I save everything. I mean everything. One of these days I'm going to take all my backup hard drives out of the safe and take a picture of them. There's got to be about 40 drives in there now, some of them dating back to when a 120 gig was a big deal. And they don't include the half dozen external drives I keep on a shelf. I've read on a good number of tech forums that there are a lot of people who don't trust the technology and mechanics that allow more data per platter. I've found that a lot of Firefox problems come from their insisting on releasing new versions, one after another. Once super fast and easy to use, it's become almost as bad as Internet Exploder. Welcome to the maddening world of computers. Over time, things just seem to fuck up for no reason at all. Something in the registry gets messed up, something else in the registry gets messed up and pretty soon you're banging your head against a wall, wondering what what the hell is going on. This is why I partition my primary drive and keep a backup image of a fresh operating system install. I also keep an image of the O/S right after I get all my programs installed. So, when I can't take the glitches anymore, I save all my documents and bookmarks to a flash drive, then wipe out the C drive. I think it's great that you have what seems to be a better than average tolerance for altered bodies. That certainly frees you up to appreciate more porn that's being produced these days. But I can't say I understand where you draw the line between necessary and elective surgery. In all but the rarest cases, neither one leaves a natural looking body. When breasts don't move when a woman is on her back, that doesn't look like a mere inconvenience to me - it looks hideous. Especially when there's a jagged scar prominently on display. Why put a scar on a body when there was no need for one? That, to me, is ruining what nature gave you. This is half of the reason why I'm so stuck on amateur porn. They've been trying to tie Baltimore to D.C. for years, making us another Dallas-Fort Worth or Minneapolis-St.Paul. They'll say Baltimore-D.C. on the news but I'll be damned if residents of either one considers themselves connected to the other.
I had to laugh because I've avoided D.C. for years and forgot about them - [u]the[/u] worst cops for tickets: The D.C based U.S. Park Police. I sometimes think they just get tired of hassling people at the tourist sites (Like the big $5 jaywalking ticket I got in 1980!)and decide to cruise up and down 295, nailing everybody they can.
Too much rain, too sunny, 3 flakes of snow, the same hill you drive every day - everything slows us down. And it's funny you mention the professionals. The slowest drivers - the ones hanging back 20 car lengths in a stop-and-go jam - are typically Volvos, BMWs and Mercedes - all "status cars".

Maryland is home turf for me. We have the worst drivers I've ever seen and our insurance rates reflect it. I've been told L.A. is worse, but I haven't seen the west coast yet. But, of the 30 states I have been in, Maryland and neighboring Washington, D.C. are by far the worst. We don't know how to merge onto a highway. We don't let anyone get in front of us by tailgating the car in front of us. A 15 foot car will fit in a 20 foot space at 70 mph. The word 'yield' is a foreign language and always ignored. (I've been cussed out and flipped off because I didn't give up my right of way even though the other driver had a yield sign) Morning and evening rush hours looks like bumper cars, with at least 4 or 5 accidents being reported on the radio. If you're passing an accident? Add at least 45 minutes to your commute. (Add a mere 30 minutes if the accident is on the other side of the highway) And, yes, we hang out in the fast lane, going under the speed limit, ignoring the line of cars that are jockeying around behind us, pulling any crazy maneuver possible to get around the slowpoke. If the woman was pulled over on 95, it was probably a State trooper. They're pretty much hit or miss with the tickets. We have a no handheld cell phone law and I've yet to see anyone pulled over for it, despite 1 out of 5 drivers having a phone stuck to their ear. I once got a ticket for doing 65 in a 55 while I was being passed by everything else on the road. I even asked him why he was a ticketing the loser in the race. His answer? "Speeding is speeding, sir". I've also been the proud recipient of a ticket for doing 60 in a 60 on a long straight and empty highway because there was a light rain falling. But, by far, my favorite ticket was at 4 am while going to work. Pitch black outside and he saw that I wasn't wearing a seat belt when I passed his parked car at 55 miles an hour. Don't sell yourself short. There's definitely no reason to compare your reviews to others. Looking at over a dozen of your reviews, just about every one that got a reply was to thank you for a good review - and I didn't see any that asked for more details. Not everyone is interested in little things like bit rates or the names of the photographers. If I wasn't stuck on joining the same few sites over and over again, I could easily see me checking out a site based on the information you've given. Again - don't sell yourself short! I'm definitely the wrong one to ask. I've been fed up with mainstream porn for years and find myself going back to the same few sites over and over again. Fortunately for me, I'm a hoarder and happy enough going back over the ton of stuff I downloaded years ago. I almost always find myself looking at something I haven't seen in a long time or even forgot I had.
No idea what to tell you there, other than writing directly to Epoch, asking them what the problem is.
That's one hell of a challenge. You've ruled out just about all of the heavy hitters in the industry. But I certainly understand your frustration with what is being offered these days. The answer lies in what you think you might like to watch and that, of course, is a matter of personal preference. You also might be limiting yourself on choices if you insist on only using Epoch as the billing agent. I don't think that any of the few sites I go back to even offer Epoch billing. In a way, the character limit does help you write a better review. When they're running long, it makes you go over everything to weed out stuff that really isn't necessary. I don't think I've ever written a review and posted my first draft. I tend to put it aside and come back to it the next day to see how it reads. I've put this blurb up so many times on here, I'm sure I come off as an agent for the company. I'm not. I just spent a lot of time looking for what you're looking for - something easier. I'm a big fan of TMPGenc's Video Mastering Works 5. I'm not so quick to learn new tricks anymore and I found it really easy to master the basics of the program. A bit of messing around with the settings for a month or so got me to the point where my family has now charged me with editing video taken at family get-togethers. It will open every video file type I've ever run into and outputs to 8 different adjustable quality formats. You can edit music and make slideshows with it. The interface is loaded with large, intuitive buttons for the majority of things you'll probably want to use to manipulate your files. Fading in/out, crossfading, resizing, speed control, color settings and plenty more. Unfortunately, it's not cheap - $100US. I like VLC for a lot of reasons, screen captures included. But the quality of any screencap depends on the source material. The higher the resolution, the better the capture. I just took one from my highest resolution video file to show you. A scene from Avatar.  I capture in png format which, unfortunately, imagevenue doesn't allow. The screencap was converted to jpg which lowers the resolution because of the compression. But I think you can see it's still pretty clear. If you're not cynical, you're not paying attention | |

That's a shame - I'm always looking for a new utility to make things easier. That tool won't work here because I don't have W7. I'm a reluctant XP user, still wishing I could be on my beloved W2K. But the way I capture, there really isn't much to do other than a quick crop. Not too much of an issue for someone with either a video editor or graphic editor open damn near all the time.
