Monahan, I'm guessing you're not a current member at Met-Art, because most of their sets do start fully clothed, and there are very few fully nude sets. I did a count on the last 80 sets (about 3 weeks worth), and 51 of 80 started with the girl clothed (no breasts or pussy showing). Are you thinking of Femjoy? Despite the high percentage of intially clothed sets, the models typically lose the clothes fast, and there are very few good strip sequences. The photographer Antonio Clemens does the best job of photographing strip sequences. Messmer, I also counted how many of the last 80 sets had panties. Messmer, I think its part of the general trend among photogs and porn sites of neglecting the slow sexy strip tease. I do hit the fast forward, but also the pause button in some solo vids when the view is just right. I've even used slow mo on some scenes. I use Capture Wiz for video capturing at the webcam sites, and it also has a very good screen shot utility. When I first read this, I was thinking "what porn are they looking at?" All the porn I've seen shows a variety of shapes and sizes of pussies. Now, if they wanted to say that porn makes women feel strange if they don't shave their pubes--that I could agree with. The unrestricted mags seem to be available for purchase by anyone of any age (you'd never see that here in the USA), while the restricted are for age 18 and older. There are censors who review each magazine prior to publication and decide which category the magazine goes in. If the labia are showing, it gets restricted. If all you can see is a "single crease", it gets unrestricted. So magazine editors have staff people whose job it is to photoshop out the labia. I'm not talking about a little touch up here and there--its completely altering and faking the photo. Most women have pretty negative views of porn, and if someone on TV or on a blog says that porn is responsible for the increase in this rather bizarre surgery, they just take their word for it. I'd give a good chunk of the blame to the plastic surgeons--almost all of whom never saw a body that they didn't think they could "fix". And they have a huge financial incentive to promote this, since surgeons of all kinds really rake in the dough when they're in the operating room. I think the warning sign to look for from the crowds trying to do things like this is the mis-guided notion of "protecting children". Here's a quote from the article by an advisor to the interior minister (the one behind this): "This move is not anti-sex. It is anti-violence because young children are seeing porn and acting it out,". What??? Anti-violence??? How does acting out porn (if that is even happening) constitute violence? It seems as if this person is equating all porn and all sex with rape. And what kind of data or statistics do they have about children in Iceland acting out porn? If they were really interested in preventing children from seeing porn, why not a law requiring porn blocking software on all computers and other devices? I think BabyGetReal hit just about all the nails on the head. For me the number one thing that makes any porn movie good is when the girl looks like she is genuinely enjoying herself and wants to be there. That is a very hard thing to fake. Good porn movies have real girl orgasms, and I love it when "girl cum" drips out of her pussy (though not every girl produces that much natural lube). The best B/G hardcore I've seen was with real amateur couples. I've grown to loathe facial cumshots over the years. I wouldn't peg the amount of "good" B/G hardcore at only 1%, but I wouldn't put it higher than 5% either. The recent emergence of "heartcore" sites like X-art and Joymii seems to be an effort to correct a lot of what's wrong with hardcore, and their popularity indicates that they are hitting a positive chord among porn users. I still haven't joined X-art yet (so much porn, so little time), so I can't say from my own experience how "good" it is. I do think real amateur hardcore has a lot of untapped potential. Unfortunately, the problem with most amateur hardcore is that it's usually crappy from a technical standpoint (lighting, set, etc). It would be nice to see the big companies out there like 21st sextury, DDF, etc, start sites with true amateur hardcore that was shot professionally. LOL Pat362! I have both a desktop (7 year old XP machine) and a laptop (2 year old with a 1080p 17" monitor). HD vids look great on my laptop, and so much better when I plug it into my 60" TV. But my desktop monitor is a 19" monitor with a lot more top to bottom space than my laptop, so I view all my photos on it. I'll be upgrading my desktop soon. The new all in one Macbook types look really nice, but I am still concerned about heat buildup. So I'm thinking about getting a custom-built desktop using a mini-tower and a big monitor. And I'm going to look into monitors that can be rotated (I know I've seen those in the past--don't know if they are still made). Over the years I have come to appreciate the ability of desktops to be upgraded as time goes by. You can add memory, hard drives, CD/DVD players, etc. I don't do any really heavy processor intensive stuff, so I dont need a new processor every few years. Rearadmiral, these are very good questions. I dont have anywhere near that amount of porn, but my two 1TB drives are now full. I just ordered a 4TB drive, which will allow me to load all the porn I have on my two 1TB drives onto the new drive, then use the two 1TBs as backups (to be stored in my storage unit in case of theft/disaster loss at my home). I am very selective about what I download, and I am currently going through my old material and deleting the lesser quality stuff. As for your Unknown #1--I think its unlikely that you will wake up one day and find any major site has just disappeared. But I do believe that going forward, there are many porn sites that are going to have to do something about the size of their collections. Most only go back about 10 years. With HD now becoming the norm (and HD2 on the horizon), the bigger sites are likely to find their archives becoming prohibitly large as the years go by. It is going to become increasingly difficult for some sites to store (and more importantly, coherently organize) their entire collections. One solution for these sites would be to keep only about a decade or so worth of material. Stuff older than that might be subject to deleting. I was a member at KarupsPC about 3 or 4 years ago when they deleted a large number of photo sets and videos from their early years. They gave a 6 month warning to members to download what they wanted from the early material. Some sites might not be so thoughtful to their members when the time comes. As for Unknown #2. I have only had a few external drives in my life, and none has failed on me so far. However, I have had several internal drives fail (1 personal, 2 at work). There really is no difference between internal and external drives, so I do believe in the value of backing things up, particularly if the content is no longer available for download online. And don't underestimate the amount of time you might need to re-download a bunch a material if one of your drives fails (do you even keep a list of what you have on each drive?). I first came across tube sites when I googled a model's name in an effort to find other websites that featured her. So I clicked on a couple of them, and yeah, you could watch a crap quality video, and get links to websites, but the bottom line for me was that the quality was crap. The model index sites and free tours are what I use now when I'm looking for more material on a specific model. In addition, the few times that I've been to tube sites, my anti-virus software invariably got a serious workout. I've never run into anything that it couldn't handle, but I dont' like to take any chances, so I avoid any site that my antivirus flags. I've never used a torrent site, since I am more than willing to pay for content that I like (are people using these to distribute pirated HD porn vids?). As for studios going out of business, I think its a stretch to say that tube sites are the reason--the quality is just too crappy. I think the global recession is as much to blame as anything. I feel your frustration dude. The pre-checked cross sells are highly annoying, but unfortunately I think they are here to stay. There have definitely been negative trends in porn over the last decade, particularly in hardcore porn: the general trend toward more extreme and sometime abusive sex, too much anal sex, gagging blow jobs, extremely large dildos and fisting, pissing, speculums, etc. I also don't like what some models do themselves with the excessive tattoos and piercings. I think fake boobs are acutally less common than they used to be, or maybe it's just I won't subscribe to a site where they are prominently featured. I don't like very much current hardcore porn, but hardcore porn has never been my first choice in porn. Yes Admiral, IMHO it is the golden age. The Fort Knox of golden ages. I remember the days of perusing mags at the local adult store. I would often look through a dozen mags just to find one to buy--and that was usually just for one or two photo spreads, sometimes just for one or two photos. I was always amazed at the incompetence of editors in selecting good photos. In those days, each girl had maybe 6 to 8 pages of photos, with about 20 to 25 total photos. Today, the average photo set has well over 100 shots. In the better sites, they almost always have the photos/poses I prefer. Each model has multiple photo sets (and videos), and most sites have 100s if not 1000s of models. There are thousands of websites out there, with each niche catered to by dozens to 100s of sites. For video, I remember paying $5 a tape to rent a VHS tape. That was in addition to an annual fee at whatever shop it was. All you had to go by was a few photos on the box. Disappointment on viewing the tape when you got home was common. Today, $20 to $30 gets you access to hundreds or thousands of HD quality videos, and you can preview them with a flash player before downloading them for your permanent collection. Many magazines have gone out of business--they just can't compete with digital porn. And I really don't know why anyone rents videos from a bricks and mortar shop anymore. Why bother getting in your car and driving over to the seedy side of town, when you can just point and click from the comfort of your own home. I wonder if any of the shops I used to go are even there any more-I doubt it. I'm old enough to remember the first IBM and Apple desktop computers in the late 70s and early 80s. In those days no one could have even dreamed about the internet that we have today. It really is incredible. Sometimes its almost laughable how we nitpick the shortcomings of the sites we review. Today's porn is hugely better in terms of both quality and value than what we had in the old days. And I am of the opinion that it will only get better. I agree Messmer, and another thing about the internet and digital porn is that is so much easier to manage and access your collection as compared to the old days of paper mags, VHS tapes, and DVDs. I went digital in 2006, and haven't looked back. I don't think internet porn is going away--I think I read somewhere that it accounts for something like 25% of all internet traffic. Capn, I gotta disagree with you on a couple of points. Just like hodayathink, I like the vertical format for a majority of the shots where the model is standing, so that she completely fills the view. On the other hand, lets say you have a model at a beach. A landscape shot with the model off to one side, and then the sand and water on the other takes advantage of the scenery. So what I like to see in a photo shoot like that is BOTH types of photos. One shot in landscape that shows the landscape, and another vertical shot focused on the model. The vertical shots obviously dont use all the available screen space on most wide-screen HD TVs, laptops, and monitors, but I usually set my IrfanView to show the entire photo, and then enlarge with magnifier as needed. Point 2, gyno close ups-I love pussy close up shots, and if there aren't a few good ones in every set, I'm disappointed. Having said that, a photo set should not be exclusively close up shots. Some of my favorite poses are full body shots. As you see from the varied responses here, you can't please all of the people all of the time. In my opinion the photographer should do the shoot with the idea of pleasing as many people as possible. Thus, every photo set should include a variety of photos, landscape and vertical, good variety of poses, full body and close ups. The custom zips that some sites are using can also help you to download only what you want. Hopefully those will become commonplace. I do agree with you on the angle shots--very annoying. KarupsPC is one of the worst offenders. I just joined them a couple of weeks ago (for one month), and I think its gotten worse than it was the last time I was there a couple of years ago. They use it a lot in the solo videos too, so I have to keep tilting my head! Very aggravating. I'll be posting a review of Karups pretty soon for anyone whose interested. I guess perhaps there are more photographers out there trying to do artistic nudes than I realized, and what I thought of as bad technique really isn't. I will say this though, when I join a porn site, I'm not going there to find artistic photos--I'm going there to find photos of beautiful naked women that include the poses and general level of explicitness that I prefer. So when I come across a photo where there's a shadow obscuring a girl's pussy, I don't find that artistic, I find it annoying. The artistic qualities of the photos are of secondary importance for me. I suspect that this is true of a majority of porn users.
