Because limited trials are, in my opinion, not worth the money, regardless of how little the charge is, it's no problem for me.
I just signed up for a one month membership and am pleased to report that the site (redirected to perfectgonzo.com) is exactly what I was asking for but not getting 3 years ago; a networked site combining all of the DEV8 sites into one at a reasonable price.

I've cursed Videobox 3.0 to hell. Then found some positives from it. Then cursed it back to hell. I was so frustrated the last time I was a member that I decided not to join it for awhile.
On my recent join though, everything seems to have improved.
Not only is the navigation not giving me any problems, they also are stacking up the HD DVDs with nearly 800 or roughly 4,000+ HD scenes. They also are offering quite a nice combo package of their extra channels. It was at sign-up, 5 channels for $50. That's a pretty big savings, but I still prefer to wait until a few weeks have passed then add then channels at prorated prices.
One last note on the Roku comment, I did receive the free Roku offer, but it was only when joining for 18 months.
I don't know if it was ever mentioned on reviews here but the access to bonus sites one gets after three months membership turned out to be streaming only. Not that I'm complaining about this great site at a good price but just thought it worth mentioning. They buy stuff from other studios so one might think Hustler etc. is also bought in similar way.

So I don't see any option to sign up for $9.95 for the first month, whether it's one-time only, or $9.95 for first month, and a higher price for succeeding months.
I've seen a similar advertisement at another site, where they advertise $9.95/month, but it turns out, when you go to the signup page, that is the rate for a 1-year subscription.
Which seems slightly deceptive to me.
If they advertise $9.95/month, and at the signup page it turns out that $9.95/month is only available with a 1-year subscription, I wonder if that is legal.

The 21sextury network includes access to My Horny Asians. So there are sometimes work-arounds to getting a cheaper subscription price.
If at all possible, try to avoid using their primary biller Rocketgate. Their cancelation process is very poor (apparently they cannot find my account, even though they are the biller on my receipt and still taking my monthly payments) and I have sent multiple emails to cancel my subscription with no response.

It used to be simple to cancel a subscription through this website. Now you get a message telling you to call a phone # where all the operators are busy - or you can e-mail them or enter info on their website telling them to cancel - neither of which gets a response in a timely way.

It indeed appears that there is something wrong with the compression of the 720p videos on this site. As I mentioned previously, they seem to have very few keyframes or whatever they are called meaning that it takes quite long for the image to clear once you have skipped forward in video player.
There are also quite large number of compression artifacts flickering in and out of image on many videos. I've tried viewing them on separate computers with different video players after having separately downloaded the files so it's not files getting locally corrupted.
